Fred Frost’s trading community says it is free to join. Members can copy trades and take trading education at no charge, and the provider says trading platforms sponsor the service. The provider does not name those platforms, does not say whether they earn money from members’ trading, and does not say how much capital a member needs. Its own terms also carry a high-risk warning and make regulatory claims that this article could not confirm independently. Treat the offer as a stated business model to test, not as a verified track record.
What the free offer includes
According to the provider’s official site at fred-frost.org, membership gives access to four things:
- Trade copying. Members can copy trades made within the community.
- Education. The site says the community offers learning material intended to help members understand trading.
- Device access. The site says users can participate from a phone or a computer. It does not list supported apps or brokers.
- Capital. The site says a participant needs money to trade. Membership does not include trading funds, and no minimum deposit appears on the pages this article relies on.
The free-membership claim covers the community itself. Any trading you do with your own money is a separate cost and a separate risk.
Why the provider says it is free
The site answers the question “Why is it free?” with a sponsorship explanation, attributed to “Frederik Frost, Owner”: “I am sponsored by some of the world’s largest trading platforms, which means I can offer my service 100% free of charge.”

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →That sentence explains the model in outline, but it leaves the most important details out. Without knowing which platforms sponsor the service, a reader cannot check their fees, their account requirements, or whether they earn revenue from members’ trading volume. A sponsorship arrangement of this kind gives the sponsor a reason to want members to trade, which is why the identity of the sponsor matters more than the word “free.”
#1 Best Overall
- As a day trader, you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can decide when to work and when not to work.
- You only answer to yourself. That is the life of the successful day trader. Many people aspire to it, but very few succeed. Day trading is not gambling or an online poker game.
- To be successful at day trading you need the right tools and you need to be motivated, to work hard, and to persevere.
The income question
The site also asks, “Does Frederik Frost make a living from trading?” It is a fair question for any signal provider to answer. The material available for this article does not include an independently sourced income figure, and the profile discussed below does not supply one. Treat any answer to this question as the provider’s own statement.
The risk warning and what it can and cannot show
The site’s terms display the warning “74-89% of retail investors lose money trading,” and ask readers to consider whether they understand investing and can afford to lose their money. The terms do not identify the original publisher of the figure or the year it was measured. Attribute it to the site’s own disclosure. It should not be read as an independently sourced market statistic.
The warning is still useful as a signal of how the provider frames the activity. A service that displays a loss-rate warning is at least acknowledging the risk. Whether its trade-copying and education products reduce that risk is a separate question the site does not answer.
Who stands behind the service
Named relationships
The terms name Mordex Asset Management and state that Fred Trading provides strategies and signals for its copy-trading services. The terms do not explain the nature of the relationship beyond that statement, so a reader should ask for it in writing.
Rank #3
- Language: english
- Book - trading: technical analysis masterclass: master the financial markets
- It is made up of premium quality material.
Authorization claims
The site also claims a Czech authorization and refers to Czech law and to ESMA material. Those are claims in the provider’s terms. This article did not confirm them against a regulator’s register or against filings. If the authorization matters to your decision, ask for the firm’s registration number and check it on the relevant regulator’s public register yourself.
How EU regulators treat copy trading
ESMA’s March 30, 2023 guidance, “ESMA provides guidance for supervision of copy trading services”, explains that copy trading can fall under different investment-service classifications depending on how the service is designed. Two design features matter most:
Rank #4
- Signals sent as recommendations. A signal that a member reviews and then decides whether to act on can be treated as a recommendation.
- Automatically executed transactions. Trades that are executed automatically on the member’s behalf can be treated as portfolio management.
The same guidance sets out supervisory expectations, including information about costs and charges, product governance, suitability and appropriateness, inducements, and the qualifications of traders. This is general EU context. It does not decide how any particular arrangement, including Fred Trading’s, would be classified.
ESMA’s February 6, 2024 notice, “Requirements when posting investments recommendations on social media”, emphasizes objective and transparent presentation, and disclosure of conflicts of interest and risk information. That standard is directly relevant to promotional trading claims and to sponsored relationships such as the one the provider describes.
What the GeekWire profile says
The GeekWire article that matches this title, “Copy My Trades For Free”: Fred Frost’s Quest to Make Trading Education Accessible For All, was published on February 6, 2024. It is labeled as contributor content, so it is promotional profile material rather than independent reporting. It describes Frederik “Fred” Frost as a Dubai-based trader and reports that Fred Trading had attracted 20,000 individuals. That figure is reported by the contributor article and has not been independently corroborated.
Best Value
The article attributes this statement to Frost: “People can either copy-paste my tactics, or they can draw lessons from them and then replicate the same kind of success with their own strategies.” It is a statement of intent and philosophy. It does not show that participants replicate any success.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Copying trades or learning independently
The provider presents trade copying and independent learning as two ways to take part. The two approaches differ in who makes the decision, who executes it, and who carries the risk. The table below compares them on the points that matter to a reader. Neither source establishes that either approach produces better financial results.

| Who makes the trading decision | The lead trader’s signals or trades, as the provider describes them | You |
| Who executes the trade | Depends on how the copy feature works on your platform; ESMA treats automatic execution differently from signals you review | You, through your own broker |
| Your role in risk control | Copy settings are not described on the pages this article relies on | Full control over position size and exit decisions |
| Costs and incentives | Membership is free according to the provider; sponsor identity and platform fees are not stated | Set by your own broker and tools, which are not part of this service |
| Quality of risk disclosure | A loss-rate warning is displayed; its original source is not identified | Depends on the materials you use; no disclosure from this service applies |
Before you join: checks to make
The provider’s pages can change, and the membership and review counts it displays differ between pages without a clear date. Do not rely on any single count. Before committing money, work through these checks:
- Ask the provider in writing which platforms sponsor the service, and whether those platforms earn money from members’ trades.
- Ask for the firm behind the service, its registration number, and the regulator that authorizes it. Check the registration on that regulator’s public register.
- Ask how the Mordex Asset Management relationship works and whether it affects the signals you receive.
- Ask for the original source and year of the 74-89% loss-rate figure.
- Find out whether copied trades are executed automatically or only shown to you as signals, because the regulatory treatment described above depends on it.
- Compare any sponsor platform’s fees and account requirements with at least one other broker before opening an account.
If the answers are vague, treat the free membership as a marketing offer rather than a service with a clear cost structure.
