There is no verified public purse figure for every Conor McGregor UFC fight. Commission-reported figures establish a $1 million disclosed purse for UFC 196 and $3 million purses for UFC 202, UFC 229 and UFC 246. Reported bonuses are separate, and neither those figures nor the estimates in later court-report coverage necessarily represent McGregor’s full compensation.
How to read the figures
A disclosed purse is a public figure reported for an event, often from an athletic commission. It is not necessarily a fighter’s total compensation. MMA Fighting’s Shaun Al-Shatti noted in 2016 that commission-reported salaries exclude some sponsorship income, pay-per-view bonuses and discretionary post-fight bonuses. MMA Fighting’s UFC 196 salary report makes that limitation explicit.
A separately reported fight-night bonus should be added only when describing a figure that includes that bonus; it should not be folded into the disclosed purse. Court-report-based compensation estimates are a third category and should not be treated as official commission figures.
McGregor’s UFC fights and publicly reported pay
The UFC athlete profile provides bout chronology and results, but it is not a purse ledger. For entries without a cited verified figure, the table says so rather than treating missing information as zero. UFC’s Conor McGregor profile lists the record, including a UFC 329 bout against Max Holloway in July 2026; no verified purse amount for that listing is established here.

Why some reported compensation estimates are much higher
A 2023 MMA Fighting article discussed an unsealed expert report commissioned by Zuffa’s defense attorneys in the UFC antitrust litigation. The report’s appendix contained “internal Zuffa bout compensation” values but did not identify the fighters. MMA Fighting matched likely recipients using other evidence, so the McGregor assignments below are media-attributed estimates—not confirmed official totals or commission-disclosed purses. These selected estimates do not cover every fight and should not be added together as a career total. The underlying case concerns UFC-promoted bouts from December 16, 2010 through June 30, 2017, but that class period defines the litigation’s scope; it does not establish an individual fighter’s payout. The strongest fight-specific public purse figures cited here are the commission-reported amounts for UFC 196, UFC 202, UFC 229 and UFC 246. For UFC 246, the reported $3.05 million combines the $3 million purse and $50,000 bonus; it still excludes other compensation that may not have been publicly disclosed. For UFC 257 and UFC 264, the cited UFC record verifies the fights but not the money. A UFC June 2026 statement said McGregor sustained a potentially career-ending injury in 2021 and had not competed for five years; that timeline is the UFC’s characterization. UFC statement.
