Cloaked announced on March 19, 2026, that it secured $375 million in Series B funding and growth financing, with plans to expand its consumer privacy products and push further into enterprise security. General Catalyst and Liberty City Ventures led the Series B; General Catalyst also provided growth financing through its Customer Value Fund. The announcement gives no company valuation or breakdown of the financing between equity and growth capital.
What Cloaked does
Founded in 2020 by brothers Arjun and Abhijay Bhatnagar, Cloaked began with virtual identities: users could create proxy email addresses, phone numbers and passwords to sign up for online services without sharing their real details. It has since broadened that offering into a consumer privacy and protection bundle.
Tools in the consumer bundle
- Identity masking: virtual contact details and passwords intended to limit exposure of users’ real information.
- Data removal: services to remove personal information from data-broker sites.
- Account and identity protection: password management, identity-theft insurance and dark-web monitoring.
- Privacy and call protection: a VPN and AI-powered call screening.
The combination is broader than a single-purpose masking or password tool. The announcement does not specify plan-by-plan availability, coverage limits or the terms of the insurance, so consumers should check those details directly before relying on a particular feature.
Who led the $375 million financing?
General Catalyst and Liberty City Ventures led Cloaked’s Series B. General Catalyst also supplied growth financing through its Customer Value Fund. The other investors named in the round were Lux Capital, Human Capital, Marquee Ventures, Fifth Growth Fund, the NFL Players Association, LG Technology Ventures, Assurant Ventures and DuckDuckGo.

Cloaked’s March 19 announcement describes the total as $375 million in Series B funding and growth financing. TechCrunch reported that the company had raised more than $29 million before this round, while SecurityWeek described total funding as above $400 million. Because the exact equity-versus-growth-financing split is not disclosed, the announced $375 million is the clearest figure for this financing; it should not be treated as a disclosed valuation.
Why Cloaked is expanding into enterprise
Cloaked plans to offer businesses a version of its consumer privacy stack focused on employee identity and password protection, along with alerts about potential scams. The company says CISOs can see individual risk levels as well as aggregated indicators such as records cleaned and scams stopped. That puts the product’s enterprise pitch at the intersection of employee protection and organizational exposure visibility.

For finance teams and security buyers, the practical question is not simply whether employees get privacy tools. They will also need to assess how the service handles administration, coverage, reporting and response when an account or identity is exposed. Cloaked’s described dashboard includes risk and exposure indicators, but the announcement does not establish details such as integrations, policy controls, deployment options or reporting methodology.
Planned AI screening and response
Cloaked says it plans to extend AI-powered screening beyond calls to text messages, email and browsing. TechCrunch also reported that the company is testing an AI agent that could help change a compromised password. These are plans and a test, respectively—not confirmation that those capabilities are generally available.

How to evaluate Cloaked against alternatives
TechCrunch named 1Password, Gaurdio, Firefox, Proton and Mozilla as competitors. DuckDuckGo is also an investor in Cloaked and offers overlapping VPN and identity-theft protection. The products are not interchangeable on the basis of those names alone; buyers should compare the features and controls that matter to their use case.
- Identity protection: Does the service mask contact details and help limit account exposure?
- Password management: What password controls and account-protection features are included?
- Data removal and monitoring: Which broker records are covered, and what monitoring or removal reporting is provided?
- Scam screening: Does screening cover calls only, or are message, email and browsing protections available in the edition being considered?
- Enterprise administration: Can administrators manage employee coverage and review meaningful risk information?
- Reporting and evidence: How are records cleaned, scams stopped and risk levels defined and measured?
Cloaked’s distinguishing proposition is the breadth of the bundle—identity masking, password and account protection, data removal, monitoring, VPN and call screening—rather than one standalone privacy feature. Its value for an organization will depend on how well those components work together and whether enterprise reporting meets the buyer’s requirements.

What the funding signals—and what it does not
The financing is a significant expansion bet for a consumer privacy company, coupled with an explicit enterprise go-to-market effort. Cloaked frames AI-enabled scams and identity compromise as personal-safety, family-safety and financial-fraud risks. CEO Arjun Bhatnagar told TechCrunch on March 19, 2026: “We’ve seen AI get better than humans at compromising individuals. And we look at this as a problem of personal safety, family safety, and financial fraud.”
The announced use of capital includes faster consumer protection, safer AI-powered threat detection, deeper enterprise tools and continued consumer-product expansion. The announcement does not disclose a valuation, enterprise customer count or detailed product pricing, so the funding amount alone cannot establish adoption or commercial performance in the enterprise market.
