Fresh applications for CLAT 2025 closed at 11:59 p.m. on October 22, 2024. The Consortium of National Law Universities gave only candidates who had already started an application extra time to pay: until 11:59 p.m. on October 25, 2024. Both deadlines have passed, so the CLAT 2025 application is not open now.

CLAT 2025 deadline: fresh registration versus payment grace period

What you had to do Deadline Who it applied to
Start and submit a fresh application 11:59 p.m., October 22, 2024 Anyone who had not already initiated registration. The Consortium said fresh registrations would not be accepted after this time.
Complete payment for an application already initiated 11:59 p.m., October 25, 2024 Only candidates who had already begun registration but had not paid. This was not an extension for new applicants.

The Consortium of National Law Universities published the closure notice on October 22, 2024. Read the official CLAT 2025 closure notice.

Is the CLAT 2025 application link still available?

No current CLAT 2025 application route is established: the fresh-registration deadline and the limited payment grace period are both over. The application was submitted online through the Consortium’s CLAT website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. For a different exam cycle, check that cycle’s official page for its application link and dates; do not rely on CLAT 2025 instructions as current-cycle rules.

How the CLAT 2025 application worked

The following steps describe the official 2025 UG process, not a route to apply now:

  1. Register online using a personal mobile number and email address, then validate the mobile number with the OTP sent to it.
  2. Log in and complete the application. The Consortium warned applicants to enter their name exactly as it appeared on certificates or identity documents; some fields could not be changed after submission and payment.
  3. Upload a recent, front-facing passport-size photograph with a plain background and the candidate’s signature. Applicants claiming applicable reserved-category, PwD or BPL status were also asked for relevant certificates. The instructions specified PDF uploads; original certificates were required at admission as directed by the allotted university.
  4. Pay the applicable fee. The 2025 instructions described it as non-refundable and non-adjustable.

CLAT 2025 UG eligibility details

For the 2025 undergraduate exam, the Consortium’s eligibility page stated there was no upper age limit. It required at least 45% in the 10+2 qualifying examination, or 40% for candidates in the listed SC/ST/PwD categories. Candidates expecting to sit the qualifying examination in March or April 2025 could apply, but had to provide evidence of passing at admission. These were UG rules for that cycle and should not be treated as current-cycle or PG eligibility requirements. Check the official CLAT 2025 UG eligibility page.
