What was the CLAT 2025 counselling registration deadline?
The Consortium of National Law Universities’ revised notice set the registration window from 1:00 p.m. on June 11, 2025, to 5:00 p.m. on June 13, 2025. Candidates had to register and pay the counselling registration fee online through the CLAT 2025 portal within that window. The deadline has passed.
The revised dates superseded the original instructions dated December 9, 2024, which had given a registration window from 4:00 p.m. on December 9 to 10:00 p.m. on December 20, 2024. Did registration guarantee an NLU seat?
No. Successful registration was required for a candidate to be considered for seat allotment, but it did not assure an admission. What to do if you are checking a CLAT vacancy now
The Consortium’s vacant-seat page describes vacancies after the third list. It includes only vacancies reported to the Consortium; the page advises candidates to contact the relevant NLU for clarification or for vacancies not listed centrally. The central listing therefore should not be treated as a complete, live inventory of every NLU’s seats.
- Check the Consortium’s vacant-seat page for any centrally reported listing.
- For an unlisted vacancy or clarification, contact the relevant NLU directly, using its official admissions notice or contact details.
- For a later CLAT cycle’s counselling dates and fees, use that cycle’s official portal. The available information does not confirm a live deadline or vacancy for a later cycle.
Why older counselling dates may differ
The Consortium FAQ originally anticipated counselling in “the month of December 2024/January, 2025.” That timing reflected the expected period in the FAQ; the revised notice subsequently set the June 2025 registration dates.
