On October 7, 2026, Circle and Tereina, a financial services company backed by SAP, announced a partnership to bring Circle’s USDC and EURC stablecoins into Tereina’s payments infrastructure, starting with SAP Cloud ERP. Circle says eligible SAP customers can reach the service through SAP Pay. The announcement describes an integration plan and early customer work, not a rollout that is already live for every SAP customer.
What the announcement actually covers
The stated goal is to let eligible businesses use Circle stablecoin infrastructure from software they already run, rather than adding a separate system for stablecoin payments. The first named point of entry is SAP Cloud ERP, with access through SAP Pay. Beyond that starting point, the release is short on operational detail.
Circle and Tereina describe planned joint proof-of-value programs with customers, training for treasury and payments specialists, and work with ecosystem partners over the coming months. Those are next steps. The release gives no production go-live date and names no pilot or live customers.
USDC and EURC: the currency roles described
The announcement assigns each stablecoin a distinct role, and it is worth reading those roles exactly as written:

The release does not suggest the two are interchangeable across payment corridors, and it does not promise any particular transfer speed, cost, or availability for either. The statement that USDC and EURC are issued by regulated affiliates of Circle is made in the announcement, which links to Circle’s regulatory authorizations page. Check that page for the current licensing status in any jurisdiction that matters to you.
What is established and what is still open
For a business or household considering this, the practical question is what can be verified today. The table below separates the two.

Because the release is silent on eligibility and geography, it should not be read as universal availability across SAP’s customer base.
Reading the “84% of global commerce” figure
The announcement says the SAP ecosystem “generates 84% of global commerce.” This is Circle’s own claim, published in its October 7, 2026 release. The release gives no methodology and no independent validation, and it does not define what counts as the SAP ecosystem. If you cite the figure, attribute it to Circle and treat it as a marketing-stage statistic rather than a measured market share.

What this means for a personal-finance reader
The announcement is aimed at businesses that run SAP software, and it does not describe a consumer product. If you are an individual saver or a household budgeter, nothing in this release changes how you pay bills, hold cash, or send money. If you work in finance or operations at a company that uses SAP Cloud ERP, the useful next step is to ask your SAP account team or finance systems owner three things: whether SAP Pay with stablecoin settlement is offered in your country, which currency and corridor rules apply, and what the fee and settlement terms are. Those answers are not in the public announcement, so they have to come from the vendor or from your own contract review.

Stablecoin settlement also changes what your finance team needs to track. Before any pilot, confirm how your accounting treats USDC or EURC balances, how tax and reporting rules apply where you operate, and who holds the controls over payment approval. None of those points is addressed in the release.

The October 7, 2026 announcement is the primary source for what the two companies have said. Confirmation that the integration is in production would need to come from Circle, Tereina, SAP, or a named customer. Until then, treat the partnership as an announced plan with a defined starting point and a set of open questions.
