Cinnabon’s first Western Australian bakery at Lakeside Joondalup was due to open on 17 August 2024, but its opening was postponed by two weeks to Saturday, 31 August. Boxx Brands managing director Brett Higgins told PerthNow the delay was because key ingredients had not arrived.
Why was the Joondalup opening delayed?
In its 14 August 2024 report, PerthNow attributed the delay to the wait for key ingredients. Higgins said the ingredients had arrived by the time he confirmed the revised date. That was the company’s explanation for the change.
The opening had originally been announced for Saturday, 17 August. The new date, Saturday, 31 August 2024, was exactly two weeks later. The reported opening time was 8:30 a.m.
Where is the Cinnabon in Lakeside Joondalup?
The bakery is at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City, 420 Joondalup Drive, Joondalup. Cinnabon Australia’s current location listing places it on the ground floor near the food court. The Lakeside Joondalup store listing also lists the bakery.

The site was announced in June 2024, while construction was underway. Higgins described Lakeside Joondalup as a strategic choice. PerthNow reported him estimating that close to 10 million people visit the centre each year; that is his estimate from 2024, not a verified or current footfall figure.
What was on the opening-day menu?
PerthNow reported three flavours for the 2024 opening: Original Roll, Caramel Pecan and Chocobon. These were opening-day offerings reported at the time, not confirmation of the bakery’s current menu.

Cinnabon Australia currently describes its offer as freshly baked rolls and specialty coffee, and lists CinnaPack take-home pickup. For current menu details and availability, check the bakery’s official listing before visiting.

The opening time reported for 31 August 2024 was 8:30 a.m.; it should not be treated as the bakery’s current daily opening time. Check the Cinnabon Australia location page before setting out. Lakeside Joondalup cautions that individual retailer hours may vary, so its centre hours may not match the bakery’s schedule.
