That explanation comes from a search-index summary of an inaccessible Football League World article, not a direct statement from Chiron or Reading FC, so it should be treated as reported rather than confirmed. The episode was separate from the later process that led to Redwood Holdings Limited owning the club.
What was reported about Chiron Sports Group?
A 14 March 2024 Football League World report, as summarized by a Scoop.it Football Finance index, identified Chiron Sports Group as the party that walked away from takeover talks. The index said the development was Dai Yongge agreeing to sell Reading FC’s training ground. The underlying article is inaccessible in the available record, and there is no direct Chiron or club statement confirming that this was the reason for the withdrawal. See the index summary.
That distinction matters: the reported training-ground agreement is not evidence that the facility was sold as part of a completed Chiron deal, nor does it establish that Chiron was involved in Reading’s later sale process.

Reading FC’s current company-details page lists Redwood Holdings Limited as the owner of Reading Football Club Limited in its entirety and names Robert Emmett Couhig Jnr and Todd Trosclair as directors.
