Is Chip City closed?
Yes. Chip City announced that it would cease operations at all of its stores. QNS reported that all 24 stores in the network immediately before the final shutdown had shuttered by Thursday evening. QSR described the last 22 stores to close after earlier exits in Connecticut and Virginia; the figures refer to different points in the shutdown, not conflicting final totals. The remaining locations were in New York, New Jersey, and Texas. QNS and QSR Magazine reported the closures.

Why did Chip City close?
The company attributed the decision to financial and market pressures. In a public statement quoted by QNS, it cited “significant macro-economic headwinds.” An employee email, also quoted by QNS, said consumers were spending less, preferences were changing, sales had suffered, and the company no longer had the funding to operate. Those are the company’s stated reasons; the reports do not independently establish a single cause.

Is Crumbl closing all its stores?

If you have a Chip City gift card or coupon, do not count on it being redeemable. FFXnow reported one local offer: MidnighTreats said it would honor them at its Arlington location through October 14, 2026. What does the shutdown mean for Chip City employees?
QNS reported that staff would be paid through October 18, 2026. That general report does not determine an individual employee’s final pay, benefits, or legal rights. Employees should confirm those details directly with the company and consult the relevant state labor agency or a qualified adviser about their circumstances.

In May 2024, it announced a $7.5 million Series B investment, bringing Enlightened Hospitality Investments’ total investment to $17.5 million; the company also described plans to expand beyond 50 locations.
