Check Point announced three acquisitions in February 2026: Cyata, Cyclops Security, and Rotate. Together, the deals target three different growth areas—AI-agent security, exposure management, and managed-service-provider (MSP) operations.

The confirmed financial disclosure is narrower than some outside reports suggest: Check Point later reported approximately $92 million in net cash consideration for Cyata and Cyclops during the first quarter of 2026. The company did not disclose an equivalent purchase price for Rotate.

Three acquisitions, three strategic objectives

Check Point’s February 12, 2026 announcement presented the transactions as part of its strategy to secure enterprise AI transformation while expanding its Hybrid Mesh, Workspace, and Exposure Management businesses. The acquisitions are not three versions of the same security product:

Company Capability Strategic role
Cyata AI-agent discovery, context, governance, and control Secure enterprise adoption of autonomous AI agents
Cyclops Security Cyber-asset attack-surface management (CAASM) Improve asset visibility and exposure prioritization
Rotate MSP-focused platform and talent Strengthen Check Point’s Workspace and channel strategy

Check Point described the acquisitions in its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results announcement.

What Check Point paid—and what remains undisclosed

The acquisition announcement did not provide transaction values. Check Point’s subsequent first-quarter 2026 financial results clarified that it completed the Cyata and Cyclops acquisitions for approximately $92 million in net cash consideration.

That figure should not be described as the price for all three deals. Check Point did not disclose a comparable purchase price for Rotate. Some outside reporting estimated that the combined transactions could exceed $150 million, but that is a market estimate—not a confirmed figure in Check Point’s financial disclosure.

Cyata: bringing AI-agent visibility into the security stack

Cyata was founded as an AI-security company focused on enterprise AI agents. Check Point said Cyata contributes discovery capabilities spanning endpoint and software-as-a-service environments, along with information about an agent’s context, configuration, and risk.

The problem is increasingly practical rather than theoretical. An organization may deploy or permit autonomous agents without having a reliable inventory of:

  • Which agents exist and who owns them;
  • Which identities and credentials they use;
  • What applications, tools, and data stores they can access;
  • What permissions they hold; and
  • Whether their configurations match organizational policy.

That makes AI-agent security partly an inventory and governance problem. Traditional endpoint, network, or application controls may not reveal every agent operating through an unmanaged SaaS account or an informal development workflow.

Check Point positioned Cyata as part of a broader effort to provide discovery, governance, and control across the AI-agent lifecycle. That does not mean the acquisition announcement established a complete, generally available AI-agent-security product. Buyers should distinguish between the capabilities Check Point described, later product plans, and features available under a current license.

Cyclops: from asset inventory to exposure management

Cyclops Security adds capabilities in cyber-asset attack-surface management, or CAASM. Check Point said the technology covers assets across cloud environments, on-premises data centers, operational technology, and SaaS.

CAASM matters because vulnerability prioritization is unreliable when an organization does not know what assets, identities, applications, and dependencies it actually has. A scanner can report a serious vulnerability, but security teams still need to determine whether the affected system exists, whether it is reachable, what business process depends on it, and whether compensating controls are present.

FortiGate-60F Network Security Appliance Plus 1 Year FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) and FortiCare Premium (FG-60F-BDL-950-12)
  • HARDWARE PLUS SECURITY SERVICES: FortiGate-60F Firewall Appliance bundled with 1 year of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection.
  • UNIFIED THREAT PROTECTION (UTP): Secures against advanced online threats with comprehensive web filtering and anti-botnet technologies.
  • OPTIMIZED FOR MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES: Tailored for businesses needing robust security without the infrastructure of larger enterprises.
  • RELIABLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT: FortiCare Premium ensures high-quality support and service continuity.
  • EFFECTIVE PROTECTION: Employs advanced filtering technologies to safeguard against sophisticated threats.

The terms involved are related but not interchangeable:

  • CAASM: Builds visibility into assets and related security data.
  • Exposure management: Identifies and prioritizes exploitable risk using asset, vulnerability, identity, configuration, and business context.
  • Continuous threat exposure management (CTEM): A recurring operating process for discovering, validating, prioritizing, and remediating exposures.

In other words, CAASM can supply foundational visibility, but an asset inventory alone is not a CTEM program. Check Point said Cyclops would help make its exposure-management portfolio more complete and support its CTEM strategy. That is a strategic objective, not proof that every part of a full CTEM workflow was already integrated or generally available at the time of the announcement.

Rotate: an MSP and Workspace bet

Rotate is strategically different from Cyata and Cyclops. Check Point described Rotate as an all-in-one platform built for MSPs, but said it acquired Rotate’s talent to accelerate momentum for its Workspace business in the MSP market.

That wording matters. It does not automatically mean Check Point acquired Rotate as a standalone product that will continue to be sold under the Rotate name. The company could embed the team’s expertise into existing products, use selected technology internally, or change the product’s packaging and availability.

MSP tooling is important because service providers operate many customer environments at once. Useful capabilities can include:

  • Multitenant administration;
  • Standardized policy management;
  • Faster customer onboarding and offboarding;
  • Centralized visibility across separate environments; and
  • Lower operational overhead for support and security teams.

For Check Point, Rotate therefore represents a channel and operating-model expansion as much as a security-detection acquisition. The commercial question for MSPs is whether Rotate’s capabilities will be embedded in a Check Point partner console, sold as a separate module, limited to selected partners, or replaced by Check Point-native functionality.

Why Check Point made the move in 2026

The three deals fit a platform strategy aimed at controlling several parts of the enterprise security problem:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Secure AI transformation: Cyata addresses the discovery and governance of autonomous agents as companies move beyond chatbots and experiment with systems that can take actions.
  2. Improve exposure visibility: Cyclops helps Check Point connect asset discovery with risk prioritization across hybrid environments.
  3. Expand the service-provider route to market: Rotate’s team supports the Workspace business and may make Check Point easier for MSPs to deploy and manage at scale.

Check Point’s reported 2025 results provide the financial context for this expansion. The company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $745 million, up 6% year over year, and full-year revenue of $2.725 billion, also up 6%. Security-subscription revenue reached $325 million in the fourth quarter and $1.219 billion for the year. Its release reported full-year non-GAAP earnings per share of $11.89, while noting that tax-related items affected the EPS comparison.

GL.iNet GL-MT5000 Brume 3 Wired VPN Security Gateway NO Wi-Fi
  • 【Up to 1100 Mbps VPN Speed 】 Hardware-accelerated WireGuard and OpenVPN-DCO deliver up to 1100 Mbps VPN throughput, over 3× faster than Brume 2 for smooth remote access and file transfers.
  • 【Three 2.5G Ports & Multi-WAN】Tri-port 2.5GbE design with flexible WAN LAN configuration supports multi-gigabit wired setups, dual-ISP Multi-WAN and failover to keep home and SOHO networks online.
  • 【Stealth VPN Obfuscation】VPN obfuscation disguises VPN traffic as regular HTTPS, helping you evade blocking, bypass restrictive networks and maintain stable, private connections.
  • 【DPI protection】Deep Packet Inspection with visual dashboards blocks adult/gambling/malicious sites, while SQM and QoS prioritize gaming, calls, and video when bandwidth is tight
  • 【OpenWrt & USB 3.0 Expansion】OpenWrt with 1GB DDR4 and 8GB eMMC lets you install plugins and build VPN, ad-blocking or NAS, while USB 3.0 Type‑C connects high-speed storage or 4G/5G dongles

The numbers show a company investing from an established subscription business rather than making a single narrow bet on AI. The acquisitions broaden the addressable platform: AI-agent controls for enterprise buyers, exposure management for security teams, and MSP operations for partners.

How the deals connect to Lakera and the AI Defense Plane

Check Point acquired Lakera in September 2025, according to Check Point’s later AI-security materials. Cyata extends that AI-security direction toward agent discovery, governance, and control.

Check Point subsequently described its AI Defense Plane as a broader architecture covering discovery, governance, observability, runtime control, and continuous validation, strengthened by technologies from Lakera and Cyata. This is evidence that at least part of the acquisition strategy was being incorporated into a wider product direction.

It should not be read backward as proof that all Cyata, Cyclops, or Rotate capabilities were fully integrated when the acquisitions were announced. The later AI Defense Plane announcement provides follow-up context, particularly for Cyata; it does not establish equivalent productization timelines for Cyclops or Rotate.

What enterprise customers should evaluate

Organizations considering Check Point’s strategic direction should ask specific product and procurement questions rather than rely on acquisition language alone:

  1. Can the platform discover AI agents created outside approved development workflows?
  2. Can it identify an agent’s owner, identity, permissions, tools, and data stores?
  3. Does it provide runtime enforcement, or only inventory and posture information?
  4. Can exposure risk be prioritized by exploitability and business impact?
  5. Does asset coverage extend across cloud, SaaS, endpoints, on-premises systems, identities, and OT?
  6. Can the capabilities integrate with existing SIEM, SOAR, IAM, EDR, CNAPP, and vulnerability-management tools?
  7. Are the relevant features generally available, in preview, separately licensed, or still planned?
  8. Will pricing be bundled, consumption-based, module-based, or tied to an existing Check Point subscription?

A broader platform may reduce integration work, but it can also increase vendor concentration. More visibility can expose previously unknown assets, but it may require extensive connectors, normalization, identity mapping, and ongoing data-quality work. Automated risk scoring can improve triage, yet security teams still need explanations they can validate.

What MSPs should watch

MSPs could benefit if Check Point makes its security and Workspace products easier to operate across many tenants. Rotate’s team may help with automation, multitenant workflows, and partner-oriented administration.

There are also important uncertainties. MSPs should seek written answers about:

Rank #4
Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra (UCG-Ultra)
  • Runs UniFi Network for full-stack network management
  • Manages 30+ UniFi Network devices and 300+ clients
  • 1 Gbps routing with IDS/IPS
  • Multi-WAN load balancing
  • 0.96" LCM status display
  • Per-tenant, per-user, or usage-based pricing;
  • APIs and integrations with PSA, RMM, billing, ticketing, SIEM, and SOAR systems;
  • Support ownership and escalation procedures;
  • Data residency and tenant-isolation controls;
  • Whether Rotate functionality will remain a separate product;
  • Migration requirements for existing Rotate users; and
  • Contract, renewal, and service-continuity terms.

A platform acquired primarily for its team can accelerate a vendor’s roadmap, but it can also mean that the startup’s independent product roadmap will not continue.

Customer and market risks

The strategic logic is clear, but the practical value depends on execution. The main risks include:

  • Undiscovered shadow AI: Agents operating through unmanaged SaaS accounts may still evade inventory.
  • Weak ownership context: An agent list without accountable owners or permission detail does not solve governance.
  • Duplicate or stale assets: CAASM data can be misleading when connectors produce duplicates or outdated records.
  • Technical rather than business prioritization: A high-severity finding may not be the most urgent exposure if it affects an isolated system.
  • MSP integration gaps: A multitenant console may not fit an MSP’s existing PSA, RMM, billing, or ticketing workflows.
  • Product continuity: Acquired technology may be renamed, bundled, limited to certain customers, or discontinued.
  • Marketing overreach: Terms such as “end-to-end AI security” describe positioning, not a guarantee of complete protection.

The investment and competitive significance

For cybersecurity investors and competitors, the acquisitions signal that Check Point is broadening beyond its traditional security-control categories. The company is pursuing a connected platform in which AI-agent discovery, asset exposure, policy enforcement, and partner operations reinforce one another.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That approach competes with several different types of vendors rather than one direct category rival. Palo Alto Networks offers a broad enterprise security platform. Microsoft can be compelling for organizations already standardized on Microsoft 365, Azure, Defender, and Sentinel. CrowdStrike has strong endpoint and security-operations positioning. Wiz is primarily relevant to cloud-security and cloud-exposure use cases.

The comparison depends on the buyer’s environment. A Check Point-centered platform may appeal to organizations seeking consolidation, while buyers wanting a narrow AI-agent inventory tool, standalone CAASM product, or simple SMB subscription may find a large enterprise suite excessive. The acquisition announcement does not establish final pricing, packaging, or general availability for the acquired capabilities.

What to watch next

The most meaningful evidence will come from product and commercial announcements rather than acquisition headlines. Buyers and partners should monitor:

  • Where Cyata capabilities appear in Check Point’s AI-security products;
  • Whether Cyclops becomes part of Exposure Management and how its asset coverage is delivered;
  • Whether Rotate’s MSP workflows appear in Workspace or a partner console;
  • Availability dates, licensing models, and API documentation;
  • Migration and support policies for existing startup customers; and
  • Integration with IAM, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, PSA, RMM, and vulnerability-management ecosystems.

Until those details are published, the safest interpretation is that Check Point has bought capabilities and talent to accelerate a broader strategy—not that customers automatically receive three mature, fully integrated products.
