Cato Networks announced a $359 million initial Series G funding round on June 30, 2025, at a company-reported valuation of more than $4.8 billion. That is the amount in the original announcement—not the later cumulative total: in a February 24, 2026 update, Cato said the round and an extension together totaled $409 million.

What Cato announced in June 2025

The $359 million was an initial Series G round, according to Cato’s June 30, 2025 announcement. The company said the financing valued it at more than $4.8 billion and brought its total funding to more than $1 billion. Those are company-reported figures; the announcement does not independently verify the valuation.

Who invested in the round?

Cato named Vitruvian Partners and ION Crossover Partners as the new investors leading the round. Existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Acrew Capital and Adams Street Partners also participated.

What Cato said it would do with the money

Cato said it intended to put the capital toward AI security, increased research and development, additional use cases and addressable market, and growth of its global partner ecosystem and customer-facing teams. These were stated plans at the time of the announcement, not confirmation that the funds have since been spent in those areas.

Why the figure later became $409 million

In a February 24, 2026 company update, Cato said an extension brought the Series G’s cumulative total to $409 million. The two figures describe different points in the financing: $359 million was the initial June 2025 announcement; $409 million includes the subsequent extension. Cato also reported that its 2025 annual recurring revenue exceeded $350 million, up 43% year over year. Those operating metrics are company-reported.

Market context: a forecast, not company performance

Cato’s June 2025 announcement cited Gartner’s February 5, 2025 Forecast Analysis: Secure Access Service Edge, Worldwide, which projected a 26% compound annual growth rate for the SASE market and a market size of $28.5 billion by 2028. This is a forecast for the wider market, not a result Cato had already achieved. The company’s reported 43% ARR increase covers its own 2025 year-over-year performance; it is a separate measure and should not be compared as if both figures described the same thing.

Earlier financing context

In September 2023, Cato announced a $238 million equity investment and said its total funding had reached $773 million. That historical figure helps put the later Series G announcement in context, but it is not an additional amount to add to the $359 million headline: Cato’s June 2025 announcement said total funding had then surpassed $1 billion.

How to read the company’s claims

The funding, valuation, ARR and growth figures above come from Cato announcements. Statements from the company and its investors about its market position or competitive performance are interested-party views, not independent assessments. For example, CEO Shlomo Kramer described Cato as having “more than 3,500 enterprise customers” and “repetitive and scalable wins against all leading competitors”; those are his claims in the financing announcement, not independently verified findings.
