TechTimes reported that Catecoin (CATE) ranked tenth on a CryptoRank list of cryptocurrency coins mentioned on Twitter during the first week of November 2021, with 241,588 mentions. That is a historical figure attributed to TechTimes’ account of CryptoRank—not a current ranking or an independently verified count. The ranking alone does not show that Catecoin could replace Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, or any other dog-themed coin.
What was Catecoin’s Twitter ranking?
In a November 6, 2021 report, TechTimes said CATE placed tenth among coins on a CryptoRank list covering the first week of November and recorded 241,588 Twitter mentions. TechTimes’ report is the available source for both figures.
The original CryptoRank post and its counting methodology are not established by the available sources. CryptoRank’s API documentation describes its cryptocurrency data products, but does not verify this particular social-media ranking. Treat the rank and count as reported historical claims, not as a reproducible measurement or a description of current activity.
Does a top-ten mention count mean Catecoin could replace Dogecoin?
No. A position on a one-week mention list measures reported discussion volume under that list’s method; it does not demonstrate adoption, market value, liquidity, staying power, or the ability to displace another cryptocurrency. The 2021 article presented Catecoin as a cat-themed comparison to dog-themed coins, but the ranking itself offers no evidence that it replaced or was likely to replace Dogecoin or Shiba Inu.

Social attention can be useful context, but it is not a substitute for assessing a token’s identity, supply controls, trading liquidity, and the reliability of the claims made about it. No current, reliable comparison of the similarly named projects is established by the sources cited here.
Which Catecoin does “CATE” refer to?
The name is ambiguous in current project materials. TechTimes’ 2021 article discussed the Catecoin associated with comparisons to Dogecoin and Shiba Inu and linked to the project then presented as Catecoin. Current sites also describe Solana-based Catecoin-branded tokens, while another CateCoin-branded site describes a BNB Chain project released in 2021. The sources do not establish whether these projects share ownership, token contracts, or continuity. A ticker or name alone is not enough to identify an asset.

- cate-coin.org describes a current Solana-branded project and lists the contract

Its claims about creator fees and donations are project statements. - cate.meme also presents a Solana-branded Catecoin project and includes a Dogecoin affiliation disclaimer.
- catecoin.com presents a BNB Chain-branded CateCoin project and says it was released in 2021. That statement does not, by itself, establish continuity with the other projects.
Before comparing or transacting in a token, identify its network and exact contract address, then verify supply and mint controls, trading access, and liquidity through reliable sources for that specific asset.
