The 11th edition recognized 300 organizations, using survey responses from more than 37,000 Canadian employees and employer evaluations collected over three years. It can help you find employers to investigate, but it does not establish that every role, location, or manager at a listed organization will suit you.
What is Canada’s Best Employers 2026?
Forbes and Statista’s Canada’s Best Employers 2026 is a national employer ranking. Statista identifies it as the 11th edition and says 300 organizations were recognized. It is an edition-specific list, not a universal certification that an employer is best for every worker.
The ranking should also be distinguished from other Canadian workplace lists with similar names. In particular, Great Place To Work Canada publishes a separate Best Workplaces in Canada 2026 list, organized by employer-size categories. The two products have different publishers and should not be treated as interchangeable.
How does the ranking work?
Statista says the 2026 ranking draws on an independent online survey of more than 37,000 employees in Canada who work for companies employing at least 500 people in the country. Survey participants were recruited through online access panels and could identify employers through open-ended responses with an autofill option.
#1 Best Overall
The methodology uses evaluations gathered over a three-year period, with more recent data weighted more heavily. Statista reports more than 900,000 employer evaluations over that period. The final score combines direct employee evaluations with public evaluations from friends, family members, or people working in the same industry. Statista says, “Personal evaluations carry significantly more weight than public ones.”
What respondents were asked to consider
The survey inputs include recommendations of current and former employers, employers named freely within an industry, responses to a list of employers in the respondent’s industry, and employers of the respondent’s friends or family. Workplace dimensions include:
Rank #2
- Canadian Constitutional Quick reference legal guide
- The Constitutional quick reference Guide contains all important constitutional definitions, coupled with key case law interpretations and linkages to both criminal and civil proceedings.
- Easy-to-read to promoted memory retention. Great learning aid.
- Glossary of terms and corresponding definitions
- Work equipment and ergonomics
- Recognition, management, trust, information, and development
- Career advancement and teamwork
- Pay and benefits
- Control over work and working hours
- Employer image and pride
- Respect for individual differences
These are dimensions considered in the survey, not independently verified findings about every organization on the list. The ranking is a composite survey result, not a real-time inspection of each workplace.
How should job seekers use the list?
Use an employer ranking as a shortlist for further research, then check the conditions attached to the specific job you are considering. A strong employer-wide score cannot tell you whether a particular team, manager, schedule, or location is a fit.
- Role and compensation: Compare the actual duties, salary, bonus structure, and benefits with your needs and other offers.
- Schedule and flexibility: Confirm expected hours, remote or hybrid arrangements, time-off policies, and how much control employees have over their schedules.
- Location and team: Ask about the office or site where you would work, reporting relationships, team practices, and travel or commuting expectations.
- Growth: Request specifics about training, promotion criteria, and realistic advancement paths for the role.
- Recent perspectives: Look for current employee accounts relevant to the occupation and location, and treat isolated comments as individual experiences rather than proof about an entire employer.
How is this different from Best Workplaces in Canada?
Great Place To Work Canada’s Best Workplaces in Canada 2026 is a separate list, with categories based on employer size. Its publisher and process are distinct from the Forbes–Statista ranking. The available 2026 information confirms the separate list and size categories, but does not establish enough detail for a like-for-like comparison of its methodology with Forbes–Statista’s.
When comparing any two workplace rankings, check the publisher, edition, eligibility rules, survey population and time window, the dimensions assessed, how much direct employee feedback counts, and whether the result applies to an employer overall or to particular workplaces. Without those details, a difference in placement is not necessarily a meaningful difference in working conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Forbes’ Canada’s Best Employers ranking reliable?
It provides a structured, large-scale employee-survey perspective, but it is not a guarantee about a particular job or team. Its three-year evaluation base and combination of direct and public feedback mean it is best used as one input alongside role-specific research.
Does the ranking show the order of all 300 employers?
The information available here confirms 300 recognized organizations but does not establish their full rank order. Check Forbes’ current list for any specific employer’s placement.
