Not as a new factory-built gasoline 718. Porsche says production of the 718 model line ended in October 2025. That does not mean every new 718 immediately disappeared from U.S. showrooms: Porsche reported U.S. deliveries after production concluded, and its delivery reports do not reveal when U.S. factory order books closed or how many unsold new cars remain. What “no longer order” means for a U.S. buyer
The key distinction is between a factory order and a car that has already been built. Porsche’s September 2026 first-half report says 718 production ended in October 2025. Once production has ended, a buyer cannot obtain a newly built gasoline 718 through a fresh factory build slot. A dealer may still have an unsold new car, or a car already allocated or in transit, but the official reports cited here do not establish whether any particular example is available now.
Porsche’s published delivery figures also do not identify the precise date a U.S. dealer stopped accepting factory orders. They record vehicles delivered to customers, not order-book status or dealer stock. Ask a Porsche Center whether it has an unsold new 718, a vehicle already allocated to it, or any remaining order opportunity; confirm the specific car’s status in writing before making a deposit.
Production ended, but deliveries continued
Porsche AG reported 2,789 worldwide Boxster and Cayman deliveries in January–June 2026, down 73 percent from the same period a year earlier. These are customer handovers, not cars produced during those months or a count of remaining inventory. Porsche’s report says production had ended in October 2025. Porsche Cars North America reported 244 U.S. 718 deliveries year to date through June 2026, including 38 in April–June, and described the deliveries as occurring “as production concluded.” It had reported 6,399 U.S. 718 deliveries for 2025. Those figures show that U.S. customers continued to take delivery after production ended; they do not prove that dealer inventory is exhausted, or show how many new cars remain. Which cars are included in the 718 line?
“718” refers to two gasoline-powered model families in Porsche USA’s overview: the Cayman coupe and the Boxster cabriolet. The overview also discusses Spyder and GT derivatives. If a dealer has a car available, compare the exact model year and derivative, equipment, mileage, warranty coverage, condition, and asking price. Do not assume that two cars carrying the 718 name are equivalent: body style, trim, options, and whether the car is new, used, or certified pre-owned can materially change what you are buying.
What to do if you want one
- Call Porsche Centers. Ask specifically about unsold new inventory, dealer-allocated cars, and any remaining factory-order availability. Request the vehicle identification number and written confirmation of whether the car is new and unregistered, in transit, or already sold.
- Check used and certified pre-owned listings. Compare a particular car’s model year, derivative, equipment, mileage, warranty, condition, and asking price. A certified pre-owned car is not a new factory-order substitute, so review its individual listing and warranty terms.
- Evaluate the total cost before committing. Compare the asking price with the car’s condition and equipment, and confirm fees, delivery timing, warranty coverage, and deposit or cancellation terms with the seller. The official reports cited here do not provide current 718 listings, prices, or remaining-new-stock counts.
Porsche Cars North America reported 24,695 Porsche Approved certified pre-owned sales in the United States in the first half of 2026, but that figure covers the entire Porsche CPO program—not 718-only inventory. What Porsche has said about a future 718
In its September 19, 2025 product-strategy announcement, Porsche said its future two-door sports car in the 718 segment would be part of its battery-electric vehicle offering, alongside the Taycan, Macan, and Cayenne. The announcement did not give a launch date or final specifications, so it does not establish when a successor will arrive or what it will offer. CEO Oliver Blume framed the broader strategy update this way: “We are currently experiencing massive changes within the automotive environment. That’s why we’re realigning Porsche across the board.” That statement describes the company-wide realignment; Porsche did not present it as a direct explanation of the 718 production cutoff.
