When can you return an unused G2A key?
G2A’s English user terms say an unredeemed or unactivated product, including a game activation code, may be returned only if the seller grants that right. The seller decides whether a return applies to the product or buyer, and the product page should explain the procedure. Check the specific listing and order instructions; an unused key is not automatically refundable.

What if the key does not work?
Contact the seller through the transaction’s conversation or complaint channel. Describe the problem precisely—for example, whether the code is reported as already used, invalid, or incompatible—and include relevant evidence. The terms make the seller responsible for product quality and completeness; G2A says it can assist by initiating the complaint procedure. A complaint is not itself a guarantee of a platform-approved refund.
Money Back Guarantee: deadlines and limits
G2A’s Money Back Guarantee terms require contacting the seller before filing a claim. In the circumstances specified by the terms, a claim may be submitted no earlier than seven days after the seller fails to respond or rejects the complaint, and no later than 365 days after purchase. After submitting the claim form, provide all requested information and supporting documents within 40 days. The terms cap program refunds at three claims and EUR 2,500 in aggregate refunds per calendar year. Eligibility depends on the program terms and whether the product is covered; these limits do not mean every claim will be approved.

What if you bought the wrong game or changed your mind?
Do not assume you can reverse the purchase. For an unused key, the seller’s stated return policy controls. The terms do not establish a general change-of-mind refund for a key that has been revealed or redeemed. Check the listing for platform, region, and edition, then consult the order’s current support options. G2A’s support index specifically addresses wrong platform, region, or version purchases, but the available information does not establish a guaranteed refund in those cases. G2A Support Hub
Does the EU 14-day withdrawal right apply?
Not as a universal right to a refund for a marketplace key. G2A’s EU consumer withdrawal terms concern withdrawal from the agreement with G2A.COM and apply to consumers resident or habitually resident in the EU. For digital services or content, the terms say withdrawal rights may be lost or limited after performance or delivery begins when the required consent and acknowledgement have been given. They also preserve mandatory rights that cannot be excluded. That clause should not be treated as a promise that a seller must refund every key purchase.

How to pursue a refund or complaint
- Check the key’s state. Open the order and establish whether the code was revealed, redeemed, or activated.
- Review the offer. Re-read the listing for the seller’s return policy and the correct platform, region, and edition; follow any stated return instructions.
- Contact the seller if there is a problem. Use the transaction channel, explain the issue clearly, and retain relevant error evidence and correspondence.
- Check the next available route. If the seller rejects the complaint or does not respond, review the order’s current G2A support options and the applicable Money Back Guarantee terms. Approval is not automatic.
- Keep your records. Save the transaction details, screenshots, and messages. The claim process requires information and supporting documents; what is needed depends on the case.
