Is a PS5 deal free, or paid through bill credits?
Do not assume that an advertised discount means the console costs nothing upfront. Verizon says some promotions apply discounts as monthly bill credits over a set promotional term. Those credits can stop if the customer no longer meets the offer’s requirements. The exact amount, duration and conditions depend on the individual promotion, so a general FAQ cannot establish the terms of a particular PS5 offer.
Before agreeing, check whether the offer requires a qualifying account, plan, new line or device-payment arrangement, and what happens to the credits if you cancel service, change plans or otherwise stop qualifying. Compare the total cost over the full offer period—not just the advertised credit—with what you would pay for the console and service separately.

Do you need to be a Verizon customer?
There is no single answer for every promotion. Verizon says some offers are tied to customer accounts and eligibility requirements, which may include a qualifying plan or device-payment arrangement for the full offer term. Check the specific offer in your account rather than assuming a product listing or generic promotion applies to every shopper.

- Check My Verizon. Sign in and review the special offers shown for your account. Verizon says account-specific offers may be available there.
- Open the offer’s full terms. Confirm eligibility, any required plan, new line or device-payment agreement, how and when credits apply, and what could end them.
- Compare the full cost. Include upfront payment, service-plan charges during the offer period, the length and conditions of any payment agreement, and the exact console or bundle. Do not count a credit as an upfront price reduction unless the terms say it is.
Could Verizon Shine have a PS5 offer?
Shine is another place Verizon customers can check, but no current PS5 prize was verified. Verizon describes Shine as a program whose changing offers can include merchandise, third-party provider offers and sweepstakes. Availability and individual terms vary. How to judge a “free PS5” claim
- Find the offer in an official channel. Look for it in My Verizon or on a Verizon product or offer page, not only in an ad or social post.
- Read the specific terms. Confirm who qualifies, what service or payment commitments are required, and how long they last.
- Identify the actual discount mechanism. Separate money due upfront from credits applied to later bills, and check when credits may stop.
- Verify the exact item and stock. A console, bundle and accessory are different products; confirm what is included and whether it is available to you.
- Compare total costs. Account for required service costs and any payment agreement over the full term before deciding the offer is cheaper.
