What changed for non-Prime Amazon Fresh shoppers?
Amazon announced in November 2023 that all customers—not only Prime members—could order Amazon Fresh grocery delivery and free pickup in U.S. areas where the service was available to Prime members. The announcement also said Prime members would retain exclusive discounts and delivery-fee savings. Its reference to free Fresh delivery on orders over $100 was part of that announcement; it should not be treated as a current, universal threshold.

Amazon later reported that its Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go physical stores had closed, while online Amazon Fresh remained available in covered areas. Amazon Fresh and Same-Day grocery delivery are different services
Check which service Amazon is offering at your address before comparing prices. Amazon Fresh delivery and pickup are not interchangeable with Same-Day Delivery orders that include perishable groceries, and the published fee details differ.

How to check availability and the actual cost
- Set your delivery address in Amazon before shopping. Service availability is location-dependent.
- Open the grocery option offered for that address. Distinguish Amazon Fresh from Same-Day Delivery with perishables; do not assume one service’s fees apply to the other.
- Check delivery or pickup choices and fees in your cart or at checkout. Amazon’s sources do not establish one current non-Prime Amazon Fresh delivery fee for every location.
- Compare the final total with any Prime or subscription offer you are considering. A grocery subscription is a separate option, not a prerequisite for every non-Prime Fresh order.

What the expansion does—and does not—tell you
Amazon’s 2023 announcement established non-Prime access to Amazon Fresh delivery and free pickup in covered U.S. areas. It did not establish a single current Fresh delivery charge for all non-Prime shoppers. Amazon’s later Same-Day update supplies a specific non-Prime price, but only for that separate service. Because coverage and checkout terms vary, your address and order are the practical reference for deciding whether delivery or pickup is available and what it costs.
