No: Amazon’s customer-facing order-history controls do not offer a way to permanently delete an order. Archiving, where the option is available, only moves an order out of the default list; the archived record remains accessible. Amazon’s own guidance conflicts on whether archiving is currently available, so check the controls in the marketplace and account where you placed the order.
Can you permanently delete an Amazon order?
Amazon staff said in a customer-forum reply on October 5, 2025, that there is no way to permanently delete orders. That is a forum answer rather than a formal policy document, but the customer-facing guidance described here offers no permanent-delete control. Amazon’s help guidance discusses archived orders, not erasing the transaction.

Deleting an order record is different from hiding it. An archived order may disappear from the standard order-history view, but it is not removed from the account. Anyone who can sign in may still be able to find the order or access related account information.
Is the Archive order option still available?
Amazon’s information is inconsistent. In a US forum response dated May 2, 2025, Amazon staff member Diane B. said, “You can no longer archive orders,” and suggested Amazon Family for family members who want separate order histories. Amazon UK help and corporate pages, however, still describe archived-order access or give archiving instructions. The available information does not establish whether this difference is regional, part of a rollout, or due to pages that have not been updated.

- Amazon.com Gift Cards never expire and carry no fees.
- Multiple gift card designs and denominations to choose from.
- Redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com or certain affiliated websites.
- Available for immediate delivery. Gift cards sent by email can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
- No returns and no refunds on Gift Cards.
Check Your Orders in the Amazon marketplace and account you use. If an archive control appears for an order, the option may let you move it out of the default view; if it does not appear, Amazon’s published material does not establish a reliable alternative way to force archiving.
How to archive an order if your account offers the option
Amazon UK’s guide describes archiving from a desktop browser. Because the control may not be available in every account, treat these as conditional instructions rather than a guaranteed current interface.

- If the order menu includes Archive order, select it and confirm if prompted.
- To look for archived purchases later, open View Archived Orders if that option is available. Amazon UK’s help page says previously archived orders can be viewed through Your Orders.
Amazon’s UK corporate guide describes this process at How to hide an Amazon order. The separate Amazon UK Archived Orders help page covers access to orders archived previously. These UK pages do not resolve the later US staff statement that the archive feature is no longer available.
What to do if you share an account
If family members place purchases through one shared account, hiding an order is not the same as giving each person a separate order history. Amazon staff have suggested linking accounts through Amazon Family for household members who want separate histories. This changes how family members use linked accounts; it does not delete an existing order from the account that placed it.

The May 2025 staff reply also said archiving was not available for Amazon Business customers. That is a dated forum response, not a guarantee about every current business-account interface. If you use a Business account, check the controls shown in that account rather than assuming the consumer-account instructions apply.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does archiving protect your purchase privacy?
No. Archiving, where offered, changes what appears in the default order list; it does not remove the underlying order or secure an account from someone who can sign in. If you are concerned about another person accessing your purchases, focus on account access and use separate linked accounts where appropriate. Do not rely on archiving as a privacy or security measure.
