That makes the target an enormous valuation scenario, not a verified project forecast. A March 2025 news report attributed optimism about $0.01 to Shiba Inu lead marketer Lucie, but it also said the team had not disclosed its own price predictions.
What is actually known about the $0.01 target?
The Coin Republic reported on March 27, 2025, that ecosystem lead marketer Lucie had predicted a move to $0.01 and characterized the team as optimistic. The same report said the team had kept its own price predictions undisclosed. That is a secondary-source account of one named individual’s view—not a formal Shiba Inu team price target, evidence of team consensus, or a timetable. What market capitalization would $0.01 imply?
The basic calculation is implied market capitalization = token price × circulating supply. A Cryptex registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission reports approximately 589.2 trillion SHIB in circulation as of May 13, 2026. At that supply, multiplying by $0.01 gives an implied market capitalization of approximately $5.892 trillion, or about $5.9 trillion. Market capitalization is a valuation measure; it does not mean that an equal amount of cash must flow into SHIB for the price to reach that level. The calculation assumes circulating supply stays at roughly 589.2 trillion. If supply were materially lower, the implied market capitalization at one cent would also be lower—but the available burn information does not establish when, or whether, a reduction large enough to change the scale of the target could occur.

Why the token count matters more than the unit price
SHIB is an Ethereum smart-contract token, not the native asset of a separate base blockchain, according to the SEC-filed registration statement. The filing gives a maximum supply of approximately 589.5 trillion and says there is no ongoing issuance. It also notes that a low nominal price per token does not make the overall valuation low: the filing says, “The token’s extremely large supply also means individual SHIB units have very low nominal prices, which is a deliberate marketing characteristic but does not affect total market value.” That sentence is from the Cryptex registration statement, not a statement authored by the SEC. Do SHIB burns make a one-cent price realistic soon?
The registration statement describes two burn paths: voluntary burns initiated by the community and a Shibarium-linked mechanism that uses part of network transaction fees. It characterizes recurring burns as modest relative to the total supply. The existence of burns therefore does not, by itself, show that circulating supply will fall quickly enough to make $0.01 attainable on a near-term schedule. Cryptex registration statement.

A separate Coin Bureau analysis updated May 4, 2026, reported about 230.3 million SHIB burned over the preceding 30 days and circulating supply of roughly 585.4 trillion at its snapshot. How to evaluate future $0.01 claims
- Check who is making the claim. Distinguish a primary project statement from a named individual’s opinion or a third-party report.
- Check the date and assumptions. Forecasts, token prices, circulating supply, and burn activity can change; a percentage gain tied to an older price is not a current projection.
- Look for the supply behind the price. Recalculate implied market capitalization using a dated circulating-supply figure rather than relying on the number of zeros in SHIB’s unit price.
- Separate a burn mechanism from an outcome. A mechanism that removes some tokens does not establish the pace or total reduction needed to change the target’s implied valuation materially.
