Marvell has strong AI-related growth and a striking record in data-center revenue, but the available figures do not establish that revenue and earnings will each grow tenfold over the next five years—or that its shares are a bargain today. A tenfold increase in five years would require roughly 58.5% annual compound growth. That is far above Marvell’s approximately 14.5% company-wide revenue growth rate over FY2017–FY2026. The bullish case rests on faster-growing AI infrastructure businesses; the investment case still depends on execution, customer concentration, and the price investors pay.
What Marvell’s latest results show
Marvell sells semiconductor products and related technology used in data centers and other markets. Its business has shifted substantially toward data center, where demand tied to artificial intelligence has recently supported rapid growth. The figures below are company-reported results and guidance, not a promise that the same pace will continue.

| Period | Reported or guided figure | What it tells investors |
|---|---|---|
| FY2026 | $8.195 billion in revenue, up 42% year over year | A strong year, with the company’s mix increasingly oriented toward data center. |
| Q2 FY2027 | $2.739 billion in revenue, up 37% year over year; data-center revenue grew 46% year over year | Recent momentum continued, with data center growing faster than total revenue. |
| Q3 FY2027 outlook | $3.150 billion in revenue, plus or minus 5%; non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.10, plus or minus $0.05 | Management’s near-term outlook, not a five-year forecast. The EPS figure is non-GAAP. |
In its August 27, 2026 earnings release, CEO Matt Murphy said, “AI-related bookings remain exceptionally robust,” and forecast that revenue growth would accelerate through the rest of FY2027. That is management’s view of demand and its outlook, not independent confirmation of a durable trend.
Does the evidence support a 10x forecast?
The exact five-year target in the title cannot be verified from the available public figures. Marvell’s October 6, 2026 Investor Day page links to presentation materials, but the underlying deck content is not established here. Without the deck, it is unclear what metric the “10x” claim refers to, what starting point it uses, or whether earnings means GAAP or adjusted earnings. It should not be treated as a confirmed company forecast.

The growth rate a tenfold increase would require
Growing a figure tenfold over five years requires it to compound at about 58.5% annually. Marvell reported approximately 14.5% total-company revenue CAGR from FY2017 through FY2026. That historical rate is not a forecast, but it gives useful context: a five-year 10x revenue outcome would require a very substantial acceleration from the company-wide historical trend.
Past EPS growth is not a five-year earnings forecast
Marvell said FY2026 non-GAAP diluted EPS was more than eleven times its level ten years earlier. That is impressive historical growth, but it does not show that earnings can repeat that increase over the next five years. The comparison covers a different period and business mix, and earnings depend on margins, operating costs, share count, and other factors as well as revenue.

FY2026 GAAP net income was $2.670 billion, or $3.07 per diluted share; non-GAAP net income was $2.466 billion, or $2.84 per diluted share. The GAAP result included a $1.8 billion pre-tax gain from the sale of Marvell’s automotive Ethernet business. That one-time gain means reported GAAP earnings should not be read as a clean measure of recurring operating growth.
Why AI infrastructure is the bull case
Marvell’s growth thesis is not simply that data centers will spend more. It is that rising AI computing needs will increase demand for the chips and connections that move data within and between systems.
Rank #3
Data-center connectivity
Marvell describes its data-center connectivity products as spanning electrical and optical links, from connections between data centers down to die-to-die connections. The company reported that data-center revenue grew at an approximately 45% CAGR over the ten years to FY2026. That historical pace is much faster than total-company growth, but it does not guarantee comparable growth in the future.
Optical interconnect and custom silicon
Marvell reported approximately 50% CAGR in optical interconnect over five years, and said optical interconnect made up roughly half of FY2026 data-center revenue. It also said custom silicon represented approximately one-quarter of data-center revenue. These figures show how important connectivity and customer-specific designs have become to the business; they are not evidence that either segment will keep growing at the same rate.
Rank #4
XPU-related products and acquisitions
Management has identified XPU and XPU-attach products as important opportunities over the coming years. Marvell’s acquisitions of Celestial AI and XConn add photonic scale-up interconnect and PCIe/CXL switching capabilities, respectively. Those additions may broaden its ability to serve AI data-center systems, but their contribution to future revenue and earnings is not quantified by the figures above.
What could keep the growth from meeting the bull case?
AI spending may slow
In its FY2026 Form 10-K, Marvell warned that current capital spending on AI infrastructure may not be sustainable and that a significant reduction in AI-related spending could harm its results. If customers pause, defer, or scale back data-center projects, orders and product ramps could fall short of expectations even if long-term AI demand remains substantial.

Revenue is concentrated among a small number of customers
Marvell reported that its ten largest customers, including direct customers and distributors, accounted for 82% of FY2026 revenue. Concentration makes results more sensitive to changes in a limited number of large customers’ purchasing plans, product programs, and timing.
Revenue growth does not automatically become earnings growth
Even if sales rise quickly, earnings can grow more slowly if margins weaken, research and development spending increases, acquisition costs weigh on results, or dilution reduces per-share gains. A forecast for company revenue and a forecast for earnings per share are therefore separate claims that require separate evidence.

“Bargain” is a valuation judgment, not a consequence of strong growth alone. The available information does not establish a current share price, trading multiple, or complete valuation model, so it cannot support a conclusion that the shares are cheap today. Morningstar search excerpts described Marvell as moderately undervalued at the time of those notes, but that is a dated analyst opinion—not a current price check, a guarantee, or enough information to independently assess fair value.

- Bull case: AI-related demand stays strong, custom-silicon and connectivity programs ramp, and earnings grow fast enough to support the price.
- Slower-growth case: AI investment continues but grows more slowly, or product ramps take longer, reducing expected earnings growth.
- Downside case: major customers cut or delay spending while expectations embedded in the share price remain high, leaving both earnings estimates and the valuation multiple vulnerable.
The key question is not simply whether Marvell falls short of a 10x outcome. It is how much growth the current price already assumes, and whether a more conservative set of earnings or cash-flow assumptions still justifies paying that price. That requires current market data and explicit assumptions; the historical growth figures alone cannot answer it.
Quick Recap
How to read the outlook as an investor
- Separate the numbers from the scenario. Treat the FY2026 results and Q2 FY2027 figures as reported performance, Q3 FY2027 figures as near-term guidance, and any five-year 10x claim as unverified until its target, baseline, and earnings definition are clear.
- Track the business drivers. Watch whether data-center growth, optical interconnect, and custom silicon translate into sustained company-wide revenue and earnings growth rather than relying on past segment CAGRs.
- Stress-test customer and spending risk. Consider how results could change if AI infrastructure budgets cool or a major customer adjusts its purchasing schedule.
- Value the shares using more than one outcome. Compare the market price with forward earnings or cash-flow estimates under both faster-growth and slower-growth assumptions; do not equate a compelling business with a bargain stock.
