How to send Minecraft as a digital gift
Minecraft’s official email-gift instructions let you purchase the game through Minecraft.net and send it to the recipient’s email address. Follow the current prompts on the site:

- Go to Minecraft’s gift-by-email instructions and open Minecraft.net.
- Select Shop and the game, then choose Purchase as a gift. Sign in if prompted.
- Enter the recipient’s email address and your sender name.
- Select or add a payment method, review the confirmation details, and complete the purchase.
The official instructions also describe a Microsoft Store gift flow for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. Sign in, select the edition, choose the gift icon, enter the recipient’s email and sender name, then pay and confirm. Microsoft billing orders can be used to track an order. These instructions do not establish that the same gift option is available for every console or mobile marketplace.
Can you give Minecraft with a prepaid card or code?
Yes, if the card or code is eligible for the recipient’s edition and region. Minecraft’s code and gift-card redemption page covers Java & Bedrock Edition for PC codes printed on cards or receipts, as well as codes provided with a purchase. Some participating LEGO Minecraft sets also include downloadable-content codes, which are separate from buying the game itself.

Codes are single-use. The recipient must redeem with an active Microsoft account and confirm the content so it is applied to that account. Some older Java-only codes and region-specific codes may have limitations, so check the card or code terms before purchasing and use the account the recipient intends to play with.
