Decrypt reported that Johnson has said he spends $2 million a year trying to make his body act 18 again. That is an attributed spending claim, not an audited figure or independently verified current budget. A separate historical Decrypt profile used a $4 million headline; it refers to a different period and framing, not a current annual total.
Johnson has also said his goal is immortality by 2039, according to Decrypt and ABC News. That is an aspiration, not a forecast or a demonstrated scientific possibility. The available reporting does not establish that he is biologically equivalent to an 18-year-old or that his specific program reverses aging; it provides no clinical trial result showing that it does.

ABC News quoted Brooke Nickel, a senior research fellow at the University of Sydney School of Public Health, warning that longevity discussions can blur public-health practices with commercial interests: “So I am sceptical and think we should be careful not to confuse good public health practices with vested interests.” That is a caution about evaluating claims and incentives, not a finding that every longevity practice is ineffective.

ABC News also described Johnson’s health disclosures and his partner Kate Tolo’s testing and health work. It reported Tolo’s statement that she had measured 14 million data points related to her menstrual cycle. That figure describes her reported measurement protocol; it is not evidence of clinical benefit. The article also distinguishes induced pluripotent stem cell creation from human cloning, so describing the work as literal human cloning would be inaccurate.
