The best-documented stories include the sale of his long-associated Los Feliz compound, later reported Los Feliz and Hollywood Hills purchases, and a reported Carmel purchase. Past transactions and media reports should not be mistaken for proof of current ownership.
What is known about Brad Pitt’s real estate portfolio?
Published accounts describe properties associated with Pitt across several locations and periods. They do not provide a verified current inventory. The distinction matters: a reported purchase does not establish that he still owns or lives at a property, while a past residence is not necessarily a present holding.
Architectural Digest’s portfolio retrospective also characterizes the Missouri property story as a rumor and says it found no public records supporting it. Architectural Digest’s account and Realtor.com’s portfolio coverage are useful historical summaries, not a complete present-day deed search.
Reported properties and transactions
| Location and property | Reported history | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Los Feliz, Los Angeles: Craftsman residence and compound | Architectural Digest reported that Pitt bought a Los Feliz home from Cassandra Peterson in 1994 for $1.7 million. The property expanded into a larger compound over time and was later reported sold for $33 million. | A historical purchase and reported sale; neither alone establishes present ownership of another Los Feliz property. Architectural Digest |
| Los Feliz, Los Angeles: separate mid-century home | Architectural Digest reported that Pitt acquired a separate mid-century house from Aileen Getty in 2023 for $5.5 million. | A reported transaction distinct from the larger compound sale; current ownership is not verified by the cited account. Architectural Digest |
| Carmel area, California: coastal property | Realtor.com reported a 2022 purchase of a century-old coastal property for about $40 million. | A media-reported acquisition, not evidence that Pitt still owns or lives there. Realtor.com |
| Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles: Spanish-style property | Realtor.com reported in 2025 that Pitt bought the property for about $12 million, citing reporting and people familiar with the deal. | A reported purchase; the account does not independently establish current ownership. Realtor.com |
| Château Miraval, France: estate and winery | Portfolio coverage identifies Miraval as a major property associated with Pitt and Angelina Jolie, as well as a winery. | The sources cited here do not resolve current ownership arrangements or litigation status. An estate and business interest should not be reduced to a confirmed personal residence. Architectural Digest; Realtor.com |
| New Orleans: French Quarter row house | The Los Angeles Times reported that the couple’s row house sold for $4.9 million in 2016. | A historical sale, not a current holding. Los Angeles Times |
| New York City and Mallorca | Architectural Digest’s retrospective lists residences in both locations among Pitt’s past property history. | The cited summary does not establish current ownership or provide a complete transaction record. Architectural Digest |
| Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri | Architectural Digest describes the story as rumored and notes a lack of public records in its coverage. | Unconfirmed; do not treat it as an established residence or holding. Architectural Digest |
Why the Los Feliz properties are easy to confuse
The long-associated Los Feliz Craftsman home and its expanded compound are not the same reported transaction as Pitt’s later purchase of a separate mid-century house in the neighborhood. Architectural Digest says the original property was bought in 1994 for a reported $1.7 million, grew into a compound, and was later reported sold for $33 million. It separately reports a $5.5 million purchase from Aileen Getty in 2023. Those figures are reported transaction amounts, not independently verified current valuations.

Architectural Digest recounts Pitt describing the longtime Los Feliz home as his children’s “childhood home” in a 2017 GQ interview. That phrase speaks to the home’s past role; it does not establish that he lives there now. Architectural Digest
What the 2025 Los Feliz burglary report does—and does not—show
The Associated Press reported that four people were arrested in 2025 in connection with a burglary at a Los Feliz home reportedly owned by Pitt. AP also said police could not identify who owned or lived at the house. The incident therefore does not verify Pitt’s ownership or occupancy. Associated Press

The amounts above are figures attributed to media reports, not a standardized account of Pitt’s net worth or the present value of any property. The sources available here do not include primary deed records or official transaction documents. Reporting can document a claimed deal or historical sale without answering whether a person retains title, uses the property as a residence, or holds an interest through a business or another entity.
