The BPSC 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) notification headline refers to the initial 2025 recruitment announcement, not an open application opportunity. The reported preliminary application window ran from 2 June to 30 June 2025 and has closed. BPSC’s exam calendar dated 14 August 2026 lists 1,298 vacancies, rather than the initial announcement’s reported 1,250 posts.
What the BPSC 71st CCE notification means now
The initial announcement was reported by The Indian Express on 31 May 2025. Its reported 2–30 June 2025 registration period is over, so those dates are not a current deadline.
Since then, BPSC has published information for later stages of the same recruitment cycle. Its official calendar lists 1,298 vacancies and records the preliminary examination as 13 September 2025. The calendar describes its schedule as tentative. BPSC also issued a separate main-exam notice with an application period in December 2025.
Why the vacancy count changed from 1,250 to 1,298
The two figures refer to different publications and points in the recruitment cycle. The 1,250-post figure came from contemporaneous news coverage of the initial announcement; it is not the vacancy count in BPSC’s later calendar. The BPSC exam calendar dated 14 August 2026 lists 1,298 vacancies for the Integrated CCE 71st.

| Figure | Source and timing | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| 1,250 posts | The Indian Express, reporting on the initial 2025 announcement | Initial-announcement figure; not the later calendar total |
| 1,298 vacancies | BPSC official exam calendar, dated 14 August 2026 | Vacancy figure listed in the later official calendar |
These figures should not be combined or treated as interchangeable. For the calendar’s current official vacancy figure, use 1,298; for the initial announcement headline, 1,250 is the figure reported at that time.
Important dates in the 71st CCE cycle
| Stage | Date or period | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Initial preliminary application | 2–30 June 2025 | Reported by The Indian Express; closed |
| Preliminary examination | 13 September 2025 | Listed in BPSC’s calendar; schedule marked tentative |
| Main written-exam application | 3–24 December 2025 | Dates in BPSC’s later official main-exam advertisement; separate from the preliminary application window |
| Main examination | November 2025 | Tentative period shown in BPSC’s 14 August 2026 calendar |
| Interview | August–September 2026 | Period shown in BPSC’s calendar; schedule marked tentative |
The main-exam application dates come from BPSC’s official advertisement for the Integrated 71st CCE main written examination. They are a later-stage application period, not an extension of the June preliminary application window.
Where to check for results or schedule changes
For any subsequent result, correction, or schedule update, check BPSC’s official website and notices rather than relying on old application dates or third-party summaries. BPSC’s official website is bpsc.bihar.gov.in. Its calendar warns that dates are tentative, so consult the latest official notice for any change.
