The headline deals came from a January 14, 2026 roundup, so they are historical snapshots rather than guaranteed prices today. At that time, Amazon listed an unlocked 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra from $1,088, the 256GB Wi‑Fi Galaxy Tab S11 at $649.99, first-generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones from $279, and the newer Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones 2nd Gen at about $399. By the August 16, 2026 shopping context, the S25 Ultra was a previous-generation phone and Bose’s $399 second-generation price required rechecking.
The practical verdict: buy the S25 Ultra only when its discount is clearly larger than the gap to a Galaxy S26 Ultra; choose the Tab S11 for a portable premium Android tablet; and choose first-generation Bose headphones for maximum savings only when they are substantially cheaper than the 2nd Gen.

Galaxy S25 Ultra: a good deal only at the right discount
The notable offer was an unlocked 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra at Amazon for $1,088, with Titanium Gray reported as the lowest-priced color. The January article used $1,420 as its comparison price and described savings of up to roughly $330. Do not compare that figure directly with Samsung’s March 2026 256GB MSRP of $1,299.99: the storage tiers are different, and Samsung’s MSRP file marks the S25 Ultra as end-of-life. See the Samsung MSRP document.

When buying makes sense
- You want Samsung’s S Pen, flagship camera system and long software-support runway at a reduced price.
- The phone is factory unlocked and the discount remains meaningfully below comparable Galaxy S26 Ultra pricing.
- The Amazon listing is new, identifies a reputable seller, and includes U.S. warranty coverage and a workable return period.
When to wait
By August 2026, the Galaxy S26 Ultra was the relevant newer-generation comparison. Exact S26 Ultra pricing is not established here, so do not assume a $1,088 S25 Ultra is automatically the better value. Wait or compare directly if the price gap is small, you prioritize the newest processor or cameras, or resale value matters.
Checks before checkout
- Confirm 512GB capacity, the exact color and the model number.
- Check “sold by” and “shipped by,” activation status, U.S. warranty and return terms.
- Verify carrier bands, eSIM support and that “unlocked” matches your carrier’s requirements.
- Make sure any Samsung-site discount is visible in your own account; reported “up to” offers could be targeted.
Galaxy Tab S11: strong value for a compact premium tablet
The deal was $649.99 for the 256GB Wi‑Fi Galaxy Tab S11, versus approximately $859.99 in Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP information. Samsung’s launch announcement identifies the Tab S11 series as running Android 16.0; see Samsung’s announcement.

Who should choose it
The standard Tab S11 suits students, note-takers, travelers and Samsung users who want a premium Android tablet that is easier to carry than the Ultra. Confirm that the S Pen is included in the specific listing and remember that this configuration is Wi‑Fi-only, not cellular.
When the Tab S11 Ultra is better
The Ultra is the large-screen, laptop-style alternative. Samsung’s March MSRP lists the Tab S11 Ultra at $1,199.99 for 256GB, $1,399.99 for 512GB and $1,699.99 for 1TB. Its 14.6-inch class display is better for extensive split-screen work, but the higher price, size and accessory costs make the standard model the value choice for ordinary media and productivity. Tablet buying checks
- Confirm “Tab S11,” not “Tab S11 Ultra,” and verify 256GB storage.
- Confirm Wi‑Fi versus 5G before ordering.
- Price a keyboard cover and other accessories separately; they can materially change the total.
- Do not merge later open-box prices with the new-retail $649.99 deal.
Bose QuietComfort Ultra: first generation versus 2nd Gen
| Feature | QuietComfort Ultra, 1st Gen | QuietComfort Ultra Headphones 2nd Gen |
|---|---|---|
| Historical deal | From $279 at Amazon | About $399 at Amazon |
| Stated regular price | $429 | $449 |
| Value proposition | Much deeper discount | Newer feature set and current model |
| Best fit | Travelers and bargain buyers | Buyers who want Bose’s latest Ultra version |
The January report described the 2nd Gen as visually similar but adding a Cinema Mode intended to improve dialogue clarity, improved on-head detection and upgraded active noise cancellation. Those are manufacturer or reported feature claims, not independent test results. The newer model also carried a $449 list price versus $429 for the first generation.
Which Bose deal to choose
At $279, the first generation offered the larger saving and is the sensible choice when comfort and noise cancellation matter more than the newest processing. If the first-generation price rises close to $399, the 2nd Gen becomes easier to justify. Bose’s U.S. product page showed $399 against $449 but referenced a promotion ending August 9, 2026; check the live price at Bose before paying.

Also verify the generation and model identifier: marketplace listings may abbreviate both products as “QuietComfort Ultra.” Bose’s broader headphone store showed a standard QuietComfort model at a lower $229 price signal versus $359, which may suit buyers who do not need Ultra-specific features: Bose headphones.

How to avoid turning a discount into an expensive mistake
- Normalize the configuration. Match storage, screen size, generation, color and connectivity before comparing prices.
- Identify the condition. Separate new, open-box, renewed and refurbished listings.
- Inspect the seller. Confirm seller identity, warranty region, return window and whether the device is carrier-compatible.
- Test conditional pricing. Apply trade-in, coupon, account or location requirements and verify the final checkout total.
- Compare current alternatives. For the S25 Ultra, check the Galaxy S26 Ultra; for Bose, compare the first and second generations at the same retailer.
- Recheck immediately before payment. Amazon inventory and promotions can change without notice.
Buy now or wait?
- Value-first phone buyer: Buy an S25 Ultra only if the live price remains unusually low for the exact unlocked storage tier.
- Latest-tech phone buyer: Compare the S26 Ultra before committing.
- Portable tablet buyer: The 256GB Tab S11 is the better fit when Wi‑Fi and an 11-inch class display are sufficient.
- Large-screen productivity buyer: Consider the Tab S11 Ultra and budget for its higher MSRP and accessories.
- Maximum-savings headphone buyer: Choose first-generation QC Ultra when it is substantially below the 2nd Gen.
- Current-model headphone buyer: Choose the 2nd Gen when the price premium is modest and its newer features matter.
