What happened to the 2025 BOB LBO recruitment?
Bank of Baroda’s Advertisement BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2025/05 offered 2,500 Local Bank Officer posts on a regular basis at the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMG/S-I) level. The advertisement noted that the vacancy count could be changed according to the Bank’s requirements. The recruitment page subsequently listed notices for the online examination, its result dated 25 November 2025, local-language proficiency results in March 2026, and a final result dated 27 March 2026.
The original advertisement gave a registration window of 4–24 July 2025. The Bank’s current recruitment page displays 3 August 2025 as the last date, reflecting an extension. Both dates refer to the 2025 campaign, which has since progressed beyond applications and examinations. The landing page confirms publication of a final-result notice but does not establish candidate-level results or the number ultimately selected; consult the linked notice for those details.

Who was eligible for a Local Bank Officer post?
The advertisement set 1 July 2025 as the eligibility reference date. Meeting the education requirement alone was not enough: applicants also needed qualifying officer experience and proficiency in the local language for their chosen state.
- Age: The general age range was 21–30 as of 1 July 2025. Category-based relaxations and required documents depended on the applicable rules; check the advertisement rather than relying on the general range for an individual eligibility decision.
- Education: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institution was accepted. The notice also named an Integrated Dual Degree and professional qualifications in chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, engineering or medicine.
- Experience: At least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or an eligible Regional Rural Bank listed in the RBI Second Schedule was required. The notice called for certification of the job profile and warned that a materially different profile could lead to rejection.
- Experience that did not qualify: Work in an NBFC, cooperative bank, payment bank, small finance bank or fintech did not meet the stated experience requirement.
- Local language: Applicants had to be able to read, write, speak and understand the language specified for the state they selected.
How did state choice affect an application?
The posts were divided among 18 states, with state-wise and category-wise allocations. Applicants could apply for one state only, and the Bank said merit lists would be prepared state-wise and category-wise. That made the vacancy count only one part of the decision: candidates also needed the relevant language proficiency and to be willing to serve in the chosen state under the advertised posting terms.
Rank #2
Among the larger allocations, the advertisement listed 1,160 vacancies in Gujarat, 485 in Maharashtra and 450 in Karnataka. These are figures from the 2025 notice, not current vacancies. The language requirement varied by state; candidates needed to verify both the applicable language and their category’s allocation in the original advertisement before choosing.
What was the BOB LBO exam pattern?
The online examination had four separately timed sections. Each contained 30 questions carrying 30 marks, for 120 questions and 120 marks in 120 minutes overall.

It also allowed for further stages that could include psychometric testing, group discussion and/or interview. The Bank reserved discretion to adjust selection and shortlisting arrangements according to applications and its requirements.
