What changed in Boa Música’s leadership?
In its August 20, 2024 announcement, Boa Música said Heloisa Aidar would lead Boa Música América, the regional operation it was creating. Fernando Dourado would replace her as director of Boa Música Brasil. The announcement described Aidar as having led the São Paulo operation through five years of growth.

POPline.Biz reported the appointments earlier, on July 24, 2024, using different titles: it called Dourado Country Manager and Aidar Managing Director for the American continent. Those are POPline’s descriptions; the company announcement’s wording is “lead” Boa Música América and “director” of the Brazilian subsidiary.
What the company currently lists
Boa Música’s current company profile lists Aidar as director of Boa Música Brasil and Josué Orduña as director of Boa Música México and USA. That differs from Aidar’s launch-era regional role. The sources do not explain when or why the roles changed, and they do not establish who currently leads the overall Americas operation. The 2024 titles should therefore be understood as appointments announced at that time, not assumed to be current.

Where was Boa Música expanding?
The 2024 announcement identified Latin America and the United States as expansion targets, with Mexico and the United States described as strategic markets. It said offices in Mexico City and Miami were planned for the coming months.
Boa Música’s current company profile lists offices in Mexico City and Miami, as well as São Paulo and Madrid. That confirms the locations appear on the company’s present profile, but not their opening dates, staffing, or operating scale. The profile also lists studios in São Paulo and Madrid and says a Mexico City studio is planned.
What strategy did the company describe?
Boa Música framed the move as organic expansion: it said it wanted to become a leading independent music publisher in the Americas while maintaining profitability and close, personalized relationships with authors and partners. Its company profile describes a focus on Spanish- and Portuguese-language Latin music, catalog management, publishing, and recording studios.
The company also says its publishing division remained outside Sony Music’s acquisition of Altafonte. According to its profile, Altafonte began as a distribution and technology spin-off; Boa Música and its publishing division were not part of that transaction.

What performance claim accompanied the appointment?
Boa Música said Dourado doubled synchronization revenue in his first six months at the company. POPline.Biz also reported the claim, quoting Aidar’s praise of his commercial and artistic work. This is a company-reported figure: the sources provide no underlying financial data or independent audit, so it should not be treated as independently verified.
In the POPline.Biz interview, Dourado said he intended to bring the team closer to authors and tailor its commercial service to their needs. His comments describe the approach he said he would take upon assuming the Brazilian leadership role; they are not evidence of measured outcomes.

What later activity shows—and does not show
A January 9, 2026 report by Mundo da Música said Boa Música had returned to administering Criolo’s catalog, including composition registrations, performance tracking, licensing, and synchronization. That is evidence of continued publishing activity, but it does not establish the results of the 2024 geographic expansion.
