Bluevine may suit a U.S. small business that wants online checking, payment tools, and the option to earn interest on deposits. The main trade-off is between paying for a higher APY and meeting Standard’s monthly activity requirement. Bluevine is a financial technology company, not a bank; banking services and deposit-insurance arrangements involve Coastal Community Bank and program banks.
What does Bluevine offer?
Bluevine combines business checking with tools for invoicing, bill pay, payment processing, and financing. Its platform overview describes invoices, payment links, and in-person Tap to Pay, which Bluevine says requires no additional hardware. These are features of the broader platform; access and terms can vary by product.
Checking and financing are separate decisions: opening a checking account does not guarantee a line of credit, and the credit line is subject to its own eligibility review and draw approval.
Which Bluevine checking plan fits?
Bluevine’s Business Checking page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists three plans. Rates, fees, and eligibility terms can change, so check the live page before opening an account.

| Plan | Monthly fee | Advertised APY | Interest conditions | Listed fee-waiver conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $0 | 1.3% on eligible balances up to $250,000 | Meet either monthly test: spend $500 with the Bluevine Business Debit Mastercard, or receive/deposit $2,500 in customer payments to checking or sub-accounts. | Not applicable; no monthly fee is listed. |
| Plus | $30/month | 1.75% on eligible balances up to $250,000 | No interest-qualification requirement is listed. | The FAQ lists a waiver when both conditions are met: $20,000 average daily balance and $2,000 in monthly debit-card spending. |
| Premier | $95/month | 3.0% on all balances | No interest-qualification requirement is listed. | The FAQ lists a waiver when both conditions are met: $100,000 average daily balance and $5,000 in monthly debit-card spending. |
The Plus and Premier fee-waiver conditions are listed in Bluevine’s Business Banking FAQs. Confirm the current waiver rules and plan terms before relying on them. The APYs and balance limits above are Bluevine’s published terms as accessed October 8, 2026; they are not a projection of what a particular account will earn.
How to weigh the fee against interest
Standard avoids a monthly charge but requires qualifying activity to earn its stated APY. Plus and Premier remove that activity test for interest, but their monthly fees can outweigh the added interest for some balances. Compare the annual fee with the incremental interest you expect on the portion of your balance that qualifies; for Plus, only up to $250,000 earns the listed APY, while Premier’s listed rate applies to all balances. Account for any fee waiver only if you can consistently satisfy both of its conditions.

Bluevine also lists no minimum balance requirement, no overdraft fee, free standard ACH, and unlimited transactions. “Unlimited” does not mean every transfer is unrestricted or free: Bluevine notes that transaction amount limits and fees for some payment types still apply. Check the current fee schedule for the ACH, wire, cash-deposit, check, and other services your business uses.
How does Bluevine’s FDIC coverage work?
Bluevine states: “Bluevine is a financial technology company, not a bank.” Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC, and program banks provide the banking services and deposit-insurance structure. Bluevine advertises up to $3 million in FDIC coverage per depositor through its program-bank arrangement. That advertised total reflects coverage distributed across multiple banks; it is not a $3 million standard FDIC limit at a single bank.

According to Bluevine’s FAQ, new and existing customers automatically receive the expanded coverage and may opt out, returning to the standard $250,000 coverage. Before relying on the arrangement, review the current account agreement and program-bank disclosures, including how the program applies to your account.
What should you know about Bluevine’s line of credit?
Bluevine describes its line of credit as revolving: available credit can replenish as a borrower repays. Each draw is still subject to review and approval, so the existence of an account or a displayed credit offer is not a guarantee that a requested draw will be funded. Bluevine says Celtic Bank issues the line and Bluevine services it.

Published baseline qualifications
Bluevine’s FAQ lists these baseline screening criteria for applicants:
- The business is a corporation or LLC.
- It has been in business for at least 12 months.
- It has at least $10,000 in monthly revenue or $120,000 annually.
- The owner has a personal FICO score of at least 625.
- The business has no bankruptcies on file and is in good standing with its Secretary of State.
Bluevine also names excluded industries and several excluded states; consult the current eligibility information to confirm whether your business can apply. Meeting the listed criteria is not an approval promise.

Offer terms matter more than the headline
Repayment may be weekly or monthly depending on the offer. Bluevine describes ACH funding timelines and a wire option with a fee, but the actual approved amount, cost, repayment schedule, and funding method are offer-specific. Review the final agreement and total repayment obligation before drawing funds.

Trustpilot displayed 11,609 Bluevine reviews when accessed on October 8, 2026, and labels reviews as individual opinions. The count changes over time, and individual positive or negative accounts are anecdotes—not representative evidence of approval odds, service reliability, or complaint rates. Bluevine’s own testimonials are promotional material rather than independent verification. The available review evidence does not establish a measured service-performance or complaint rate.
See the Bluevine Trustpilot page for the individual reports, but use them as prompts for questions about account holds, support, and dispute handling rather than as a reliable forecast of your experience.
Who may find Bluevine worth considering?
Bluevine is most relevant to owners who want an online business account and can make use of its payment and invoicing tools. The plan choice depends on expected balances, the Standard activity test, and whether the paid-plan fee is justified by the interest and features for your business. Businesses that need financing should assess the credit line separately using the actual offer terms.
