A November 22, 2024, TechBullion release bundled three different kinds of news: BlockDAG’s reported mining-algorithm announcement and presale total, a speculative $6 Polkadot price target, and a description of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol Runtime Environment (CRE). The release does not independently substantiate BlockDAG’s security or fundraising claims, and its prices and targets are historical—not current market information.
What did the November 2024 headline actually claim?
Published by TechBullion under David Bryan’s byline on November 22, 2024, the article said BlockDAG announced a mining algorithm called KKAK-256 during a team AMA. It described the algorithm as improving mining security and efficiency. The same release claimed BlockDAG’s presale had raised more than $129 million and had increased 2,240% since its first batch. Those are claims made by the release, not independently audited fundraising figures.
The article also placed Polkadot (DOT) near $5.64 and presented $6 as a price target, with $5 described as support. Those figures belong to the article’s November 2024 snapshot; they are not a current quote or a substantiated forecast. A price target in a promotional crypto article should not be treated as a financial plan or evidence that a token will reach that price.
Does KKAK-256’s announcement establish a security upgrade?
No. The 2024 release reports the announcement and its claimed security rationale, but it does not provide a technical specification, independent security analysis, or audit establishing that KKAK-256 improves security. Without those materials, readers cannot assess the algorithm’s design, threat model, implementation, or performance against alternatives.

BlockDAG’s official site describes the project as a proof-of-work Layer 1 using a directed acyclic graph (DAG) structure. Its site names X10, X30, and X100 miners, while its developer hub lists dated development releases and references miner- and ASIC-related work. This establishes that the project presents a physical-miner product path; it does not establish that a particular miner is available through a marketplace, compatible with a buyer’s setup, or profitable to operate. A product name alone is not enough to determine whether hardware can mine a network: specifications and supported configurations matter.
What does BlockDAG’s later official update show?
BlockDAG’s Dev Release 256, dated August 20, 2026, focuses on infrastructure rather than documenting a validated KKAK-256 security result. It discusses additional server capacity, RPC stability and capacity, code optimization, and infrastructure monitoring. It also says further blockchain-level changes were still under discussion and would need technical assessment and validation before deployment.

Does Polkadot’s token information support a $6 target?
No. Polkadot’s official platform information describes DOT’s role in the network’s economic and governance functions, not a price forecast. It lists a maximum supply of 2.1 billion DOT and says issuance steps down every two years beginning in March 2026 until that cap is reached. Token utility and supply mechanics can help explain how a network works, but they do not establish what a token should trade for or whether it will reach a particular target.
The $6 figure was a speculative target in the November 2024 TechBullion article. The article’s accompanying near-$5.64 DOT quote and $5 support level are historical context from that release, not present-day market data.

What does Chainlink’s CRE update mean for developers?
The 2024 article characterized Chainlink’s CRE as a modular, multichain framework for workflows connecting blockchain applications with real-world data, APIs, and payment systems. That description is distinct from the current operational guidance on Chainlink’s CRE network-upgrade page; it should not be read as though the 2024 release and the later upgrade notice were the same announcement.
Chainlink’s page says Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade is planned for Q4 2026. As of the page’s October 8, 2026 snapshot, Sepolia was scheduled for October 6, 2026, at 13:53:36 UTC, while Hoodi and Mainnet timing remained to be confirmed. The Sepolia date has passed, but the schedule alone does not establish whether the upgrade occurred. Developers should check the live Chainlink guidance for current network status and timing.

For workflows that write to affected networks, Chainlink warns that failures may occur for roughly 30 minutes before and after an upgrade. Its guidance is to add gas headroom or unset fixed gas limits ahead of the Sepolia upgrade, inspect transactions afterward, and prepare similarly for Hoodi and Mainnet. These are operational precautions for developers, not a token-price signal.
How should readers compare the three claims?
| Project or topic | What the material describes | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| BlockDAG | A proof-of-work DAG Layer 1, a reported KKAK-256 announcement, a claimed presale total, and named miners | The 2024 security and fundraising assertions are attributed to TechBullion; the later August 2026 release reports infrastructure work and snapshot metrics. The cited material does not include an independent KKAK-256 assessment or auditable presale record. |
| Polkadot | DOT’s network and governance utility, supply mechanics, and a historical $6 target | The official platform information describes token functions and a supply cap, not the likelihood of reaching the 2024 target. |
| Chainlink CRE | A modular multichain workflow framework and later Ethereum upgrade guidance | The dated upgrade page provides developer precautions and scheduled network timing; it is not evidence for the BlockDAG or DOT claims. |
For a personal-finance decision, keep project announcements, independently verifiable technical evidence, token economics, and market forecasts separate. The cited material does not establish that BlockDAG’s presale figure was independently audited, that KKAK-256’s security benefit was independently validated, or that Polkadot would reach $6.
