Yes—BlackBull Markets appears to be a real operating broker, not a fabricated company. Black Bull Group Limited is listed by New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (FMA) as an active licensed derivatives issuer, while BBG Limited is identified in BlackBull’s client agreement as authorised by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority.
That answer needs an important qualification: BlackBull does not use one universal legal entity for every customer. Your regulator, complaint route, leverage, and available protections depend on the entity named in your account-opening documents and Client Portal. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) also added BlackBull Markets to its Warning List on April 22, 2026, stating that the firm is not FCA-authorised.

This review uses information checked on August 8, 2026. Broker terms can change, so the account agreement and current pricing shown in your Client Portal should take priority over a general website comparison.
Who regulates BlackBull Markets?
BlackBull’s regulatory position is best understood by looking at the legal entity serving the account.
#1 Best Overall
- BUILT FOR YOUR MARKET, FUTURES, STOCKS, FOREX, OPTIONS & CRYPTO: 4X is a mindset and process journal, not a strategy tool tied to one instrument. The plan, the trade log, the deep dive and the weekly review work the same whether you trade ES, EURUSD, SPY or BTC. Traders use it across all five markets every day.
- THE 2026 EDITION, REBUILT FROM TRADER FEEDBACK: Same trusted system, better in every way. An extra daily page for more room to log the session. Weekly reviews now grouped with each week's trades, so no more flipping back and forth. Crisp, darker print that's easy on the eyes after hours on a screen. A Quick-Start QR that scans straight to step-by-step instructions.
- NOT A NOTEBOOK, A COMPLETE 12-WEEK SYSTEM: Start with a one-time 9-part Trading Plan (your market, setups, risk rules and discipline checklist). Then twelve identical weeks: five Daily Logs, five Deep Dive trade pages, and a two-page Weekly Review. 189 guided pages, roughly 80 trades. Guided prompts walk you through every step. You never stare at a blank page.
- RATE YOUR EXECUTION, NOT YOUR RESULT: Your platform tracks the P&L. Nothing tracks the why. Log energy, sleep and mindset before the open; grade every trade A to F on whether you followed your plan, not on whether it won; then face the pattern every weekend with START / STOP / IMPROVE / CONTINUE. That review habit is the edge. You're 42% more likely to hit a goal you've written down.
- BUILT TO LAST, ARRIVES GIFT-READY: Vegan-leather hardcover, 100gsm bleed-resistant paper, two ribbon markers and an elastic closure band. Bound to lay flat so you're not fighting the spine while you write. 189 pages, 5.75" x 8.5", carries in a bag. Ships in a premium gift box: the gift every trader in your life actually wants.
| Entity | Jurisdiction | Status | Business covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black Bull Group Limited | New Zealand | Active FMA derivatives issuer licence, FSP403326, granted August 12, 2020 | Derivatives services |
| BBG Limited | Seychelles | Authorised by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD045, according to BlackBull’s client agreement | Investment services |
| Black Bull Trade Limited | New Zealand | Registered FSP, FSP1002113 | Share investing; separate from BlackBull CFD services |
BlackBull says the applicable entity is shown in the account-opening documents, Client Agreement, and Client Portal. Do not assume that opening an account through the BlackBull website automatically gives you the protections attached to the New Zealand entity.
New Zealand client-money arrangements
BlackBull states that client funds for its New Zealand operation are held in segregated client accounts with ANZ Bank in New Zealand. Segregation is designed to keep client money separate from the broker’s operating funds. It is not the same as a government-backed compensation guarantee, and it does not remove the risk of trading leveraged products.
New Zealand clients can generally use Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL), participant number 5623, for eligible unresolved complaints. The relevant complaint scheme still depends on the entity in your agreement.
The FCA warning for UK residents
On April 22, 2026, the FCA added BlackBull Markets to its Warning List. The FCA said BlackBull is not authorised by the FCA and may be targeting people in the UK. It also stated that customers dealing with the firm would not have access to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection.
This warning does not prove that BlackBull is a nonexistent company. It means the broker is not authorised to provide or promote the relevant services under the UK FCA regime. BlackBull’s own restricted-country page says its services are not intended for UK residents, as well as residents of the European Union, India, the United States, and Canada.
Account types, spreads, and commissions
BlackBull currently publishes two account comparison tables. They should not be combined into one universal pricing schedule because account availability and pricing can vary by entity.
ECN account table
| Account | Advertised spread from | Commission | Minimum deposit | Maximum headline leverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ECN Standard | 0.8 pips | None | US$0 | Up to 1:500 |
| ECN Prime | 0.0 pips | US$3 per lot per side | US$0 | Up to 1:500 |
| Prime+ | 0.0 pips | Conflicting information on BlackBull’s site: US$3 per lot per side in the comparison table and an equivalent US$2 per lot in the commission explanation | US$0 | Up to 1:500 |
Standard, Raw, and Pro table
| Account | Advertised spread from | Commission | Minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1.4 pips | None | US$50 |
| Raw | 0.0 pips | US$3 | US$100 |
| Pro | 0.6 pips | None | US$500 |
The practical summary is that BlackBull advertises account-dependent spreads from 0.0 pips, commissions that vary by account, and leverage up to 1:500. “From” spreads are not guaranteed spreads: the live spread can widen with market conditions, news, low liquidity, or the instrument traded.
Rank #2
The Prime+ discrepancy is a reason to confirm the applicable commission in writing or in the account’s pricing schedule before depositing. Do not rely on one headline table when the broker’s own pages display different figures.

Leverage up to 1:500 is a maximum headline figure, not a setting available for every product. BlackBull’s contract specifications show examples such as:
- EUR/USD: maximum leverage of 1:500
- Gold/USD: maximum leverage of 1:500
- Bitcoin/USD: maximum leverage of 1:100
- NAS100: maximum leverage of 1:100
- US30: maximum leverage of 1:100
High leverage reduces the margin required to open a position but magnifies losses just as quickly. The applicable limit may also depend on the account entity and client classification.
BlackBull says positions may be closed automatically when equity falls below the required margin threshold. Its current support information describes a 50% stop-out level, with positions generally closed starting with the largest losing positions until margin requirements are restored. However, BlackBull’s account comparison table lists a 20% stop-out level. These published figures conflict, so do not assume one level applies to every account or entity; check the terms for your account. Automatic closure is a broker-defined liquidation mechanism, not evidence by itself that a trade was manipulated.
Platforms and available markets
BlackBull identifies MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and TradingView as its main platforms. Platform, product, and cryptocurrency availability can vary by entity and account.

One operational detail is easy to miss: BlackBull says cryptocurrency markets operate 24/7 except on MT4 because of technical limitations. Anyone intending to trade crypto outside conventional market hours should verify which platform supports the intended instrument.
Withdrawals: process, fees, and delays
BlackBull’s published withdrawal process is:
- Sign in to the Client Portal.
- Open My Wallet from the left-hand menu.
- Select the relevant trading account.
- Click WITHDRAW FUNDS.
- Choose the withdrawal method and enter the amount.
- Click NEXT.
- Click the confirmation link sent to the registered email address.
The request does not begin processing until the email confirmation link is clicked. If the email is missing, check the junk folder and make sure you are checking the email address registered to the account.

Withdrawal costs and minimums
BlackBull currently says it does not charge a deposit fee, although banks and payment providers may charge their own fees. It charges US$5 per withdrawal request. Third-party processors may also add payment, exchange, or conversion charges.
There is reportedly no general account-level minimum withdrawal amount or withdrawal-frequency limit. However, individual methods have minimums. Examples include:
| Method | Example minimum |
|---|---|
| Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, SEPA, and several local methods | Often US$10 |
| Skrill and Neteller | US$50 |
| Cryptocurrency | US$25, depending on the network |
| UnionPay | CNY 3,500 |
BlackBull lists card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller, and SEPA withdrawals as instant on approval; bank transfers as 1–3 business days; crypto as 1–2 business days; and some local methods as instant to 48 hours. These are processing estimates, not guaranteed arrival times. Compliance checks, bank processing, payment-provider delays, and currency conversion can extend the wait.
Common reasons a withdrawal may fail or stall
- The email confirmation was not completed. The request remains unprocessed until the link is clicked.
- The withdrawal method differs from the deposit method. BlackBull says this may be allowed only after its compliance requirements are met.
- The requested amount is below the method minimum. “No general minimum” does not override a payment method’s own threshold.
- Third-party charges reduce the received amount. The broker’s US$5 fee may not be the only deduction.
- The account is attached to a different entity or country route. That can affect available methods, documents, checks, and complaint procedures.
Swap-free accounts and inactivity fees
Swap-free does not mean cost-free indefinitely
BlackBull changed its swap-free terms on October 13, 2025. An administrative fee starts on the fifth rollover period, then recurs every five rollover periods until the position closes. Saturdays and Sundays count as rollover days. Fees are charged per position, vary by symbol, and are prorated for partial lots.
Examples of listed charges per lot include:
| Symbol | Listed fee per lot |
|---|---|
| EUR/USD | US$75 |
| GBP/USD | US$20 |
| USD/JPY | US$150 |
| XAU/USD | US$100 |
| NAS100 | US$30 |
| US30 | US$50 |
For example, a 0.1-lot position would incur 10% of the listed per-lot charge. BlackBull also says it can revoke swap-free status where it suspects misuse.
Conflicting inactivity-fee information
BlackBull’s current support page says it does not charge inactivity fees. However, a September 2025 Product Disclosure Statement indexed on BlackBull’s website contains a clause describing an inactivity fee after more than 90 consecutive days without trading, followed by monthly charges.

How to check that you are dealing with the genuine broker
Impersonation is a genuine risk. New Zealand’s FMA has warned about websites misusing Black Bull Group Limited’s registration details. Black Bull Group Limited told the FMA that it was not associated with those websites.
BlackBull identifies official channels including blackbull.com, secure.blackbull.com, partners.blackbull.com, research.blackbull.com, academy.blackbull.com, and competition.blackbull.com. A domain containing “BlackBull” is not automatically legitimate.
- Type blackbull.com into your browser rather than following an unsolicited message.
- Check the exact domain, spelling, and HTTPS certificate.
- Compare the legal entity and licence number against the regulator’s register.
- Do not send money to a personal bank account or to a wallet supplied by an unverified contact.
- Be suspicious of guaranteed returns, urgent deposit requests, or claims that losses can be recovered for an upfront fee.
Complaints and dispute resolution
BlackBull’s complaints page says customers can email [email protected] or [email protected]. Include your name, account number where relevant, a description of the issue, supporting evidence, and the outcome you want.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBlackBull says it will acknowledge a complaint within two business days and aims to provide a written response within 21 business days where possible. The escalation route depends on the account entity:
- New Zealand clients may be able to refer an eligible unresolved complaint to FSCL.
- Accounts handled by BBG Limited may be escalated to the Seychelles FSA.
Keep platform statements, transaction IDs, emails, screenshots, and withdrawal confirmations. A clear evidence trail is more useful than repeated informal messages to support.

| Potential advantages | Important drawbacks |
|---|---|
| Identifiable operating entities and an active New Zealand FMA licence | International clients may be served by the Seychelles entity with different protections |
| MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView support | UK residents are outside the FCA-authorised framework and subject to an FCA warning |
| Account options with advertised spreads from 0.0 pips | Pricing tables contain conflicting Prime+ commission information |
| Segregated client-money arrangement stated for the New Zealand operation | Segregation is not a compensation guarantee |
| Published withdrawal procedures and multiple payment methods | US$5 withdrawal fee plus possible third-party charges and method-specific minimums |
| Swap-free account option | Administrative charges begin after the fifth rollover period |
Verdict: is BlackBull Markets legitimate?
BlackBull Markets is best described as a legitimate operating broker with an active New Zealand-licensed entity and a Seychelles-regulated international entity. The evidence does not support describing the company itself as an anonymous scam.
It is not, however, correct to say that every customer receives New Zealand regulatory protection, that the broker is FCA-regulated, or that its 1:500 leverage applies to every instrument. The FCA warning matters for UK residents, and BlackBull’s restricted-country policy says UK residents should not use the service.

How can I tell whether a BlackBull website is genuine?
Start at blackbull.com or another official domain listed by BlackBull, check the exact URL, and verify the entity and licence with the relevant regulator. The FMA has warned about impersonation websites using BlackBull’s name and registration details.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: BlackBull Markets appears to be a genuine broker, but “legitimate” does not mean every customer gets the same protections. Check the legal entity in your Client Agreement, do not assume FCA or New Zealand coverage, confirm fees before depositing, and use only verified domains.
