A Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not create recurring billing for that Lifetime license. That does not automatically cancel a separate Babbel subscription purchased through Babbel, Apple, or Google Play.
What “lifetime” really means
Babbel’s End User Terms define Lifetime access more narrowly than permanent ownership of software. The license is personal, non-transferable, and non-inheritable. It applies to the covered services and languages described in the order and continues while those services are offered and supported.

Was $129.99 a good value?
The value depended more on expected use than on the size of the advertised discount. A simple way to estimate the break-even point is:
Break-even months = $129.99 ÷ the comparable monthly subscription cost
Use the actual price available through the channel you would otherwise choose. Babbel says pricing can vary by location, duration, subscription type, and purchase channel, including direct Babbel purchases, partner websites, Apple, and Google Play. The calculation should therefore be treated as a personal comparison, not a claim about Babbel’s current pricing.

Buying a Lifetime entitlement did not necessarily stop an existing subscription. Babbel says that changing to Lifetime may automatically cancel a subscription billed directly by Babbel, while subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google Play may require separate cancellation through the relevant account.
- Check the Babbel account page for a direct Babbel subscription.
- Check Apple or Google Play subscription settings if the original plan was purchased through an app store.
- Do not assume deleting the app cancels billing.
- Confirm whether unused time is transferred, forfeited, or handled differently under the purchase channel’s terms.
Babbel’s cancellation guidance states that deleting the app or account does not itself cancel a subscription.
