The best-supported estimate for Birmingham City’s 2023/24 squad is about £8,670 per player per week. It is a calculation from SalaryLeaks’ estimated annual average of £450,873, divided by 52—not a verified figure from the club’s payroll. Salary data for Championship clubs is incomplete, so treat this as an estimate rather than an exact or official wage.
How the estimated weekly wage is calculated
SalaryLeaks reports an estimated average annual salary of £450,873 for its Birmingham City 2023/24 squad estimate. Dividing by 52 weeks gives approximately £8,670 per week:
£450,873 ÷ 52 ≈ £8,670
The annual figure and weekly conversion are estimates. SalaryLeaks’ page, updated June 5, 2026, also gives an estimated £13.5 million wage bill and a 30-player squad. Those figures describe that site’s dataset; they should not be taken as an official club payroll or definitive first-team roster. SalaryLeaks’ Birmingham City salary page says comprehensive Championship salary data is rarely published and that many player figures are informed estimates based on available reporting and club wage-bill information.
Why another source reports £12,414 per week
Salary Sport gives a different 2023/24 average: £12,414 per week. That figure applies to players aged 22 or older for whom Salary Sport holds a wage, rather than to a stated whole-squad annual average. The site says its wage data covers 21 players within a dataset of 68 squad members, so the populations and coverage differ. Salary Sport’s Birmingham City page

| SalaryLeaks: about £8,670 per week | Its estimated £450,873 annual average divided by 52 | Whole-squad estimate; page updated June 5, 2026. SalaryLeaks reports an estimated £13.5 million wage bill and a 30-player squad. |
| Salary Sport: £12,414 per week | Average for players aged 22 or older with wages listed | 2023/24 archive; wage data for 21 players within a 68-player squad dataset. |
Salary Sport also reports a weekly wage bill of £303,820. Its position-group breakdown counts five players half in each of two groups. Because the sites use different coverage and definitions, their wage bills, squad counts, and averages should not be combined as though they came from one consistent dataset. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the estimate does—and does not—tell you
- It is a useful approximate benchmark: about £8,670 per week is the whole-squad estimate derived from SalaryLeaks’ annual average.
- It is not an official average: neither cited salary page establishes a definitive club payroll for each player.
- It is not the same statistic as £12,414: Salary Sport’s figure is age-restricted and based on the players represented in its wage dataset.
- Individual wages vary: SalaryLeaks lists Krystian Bielik as its highest-paid Birmingham City player at an estimated £20,000 per week; that, too, is a secondary-source estimate.
For a single headline figure, about £8,670 per week is the clearest available whole-squad estimate on the stated basis. The £12,414 alternative answers a narrower question about players aged 22 or older in another site’s dataset.
