The Bihar Police Constable recruitment 2025 application window is closed: Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar, accepted applications for 19,838 posts from March 18 to April 18, 2025. The written examination, physical efficiency test (PET) and final selection list have since been completed. CSBC published the final list on May 27, 2026; later notices address confirmation of candidates provisionally selected in that result, so individual cases should be checked against the board’s current notices.

Who was eligible to apply
The notice limited applications to Indian citizens with Intermediate (10+2) or an accepted equivalent qualification. Listed equivalents include specified Bihar board Maulvi and Sanskrit qualifications. Eligibility depended on the candidate’s category, domicile where a reservation claim was made, and valid supporting certificates; the advertisement should be consulted for the complete document rules.

Age and category rules
For general-category applicants, the age range was 18 to 25, calculated using the date of birth on the matriculation certificate. The notice provides category-specific upper-age relaxation for BC/EBC men, BC/EBC women, SC/ST candidates and transgender candidates. Applicants claiming reservation had to meet the notice’s applicable domicile and certificate requirements. Out-of-state applicants were treated under the stated general-category rules for relevant claims. These conditions are not interchangeable: check the advertisement’s exact category, age and document provisions before relying on a reservation or relaxation. Physical standards
Height, chest and weight requirements differed by category and gender. They were eligibility standards, not scored PET events. Because the applicable measurement and certificate requirements depend on the candidate’s circumstances, use the original notice’s tables rather than a single generalized cutoff. How the selection process worked
Selection had two distinct stages: a qualifying written examination used to shortlist candidates for PET, followed by physical-event scoring that determined final merit, subject to eligibility and document verification.
Written examination: qualifying and for PET shortlisting
The written test was an OMR-based, two-hour examination at Bihar matriculation level, with 100 objective questions for 100 marks. Subjects included Hindi, English, mathematics, social science, science, general knowledge and current affairs. A score below 30 percent disqualified a candidate. Written marks determined eligibility for PET shortlisting but did not count toward the final merit list. Written-exam rules in Advt. 01/2025
Rank #4
PET: scored events and final merit
The PET carried 100 marks: running was worth up to 50, shot put up to 25, and high jump up to 25. Candidates had to qualify in all three events. The notice set different distances, time limits, weights and scoring rules for men and women. Final merit was based on combined PET marks, subject to eligibility and document verification. Where to check a result or confirmation notice
Use CSBC’s official site and its recruitment archive for the final selection document and subsequent confirmation notices. A final-list entry and a later confirmation notice are separate points in the process; candidates provisionally selected should follow the notice that applies to their case and check for any updates or required action. The board’s archive lists notices dated July 4, July 22 and September 25, 2026, but the existence of those notices alone does not show that all provisional confirmations are complete.
