Bevel announced a $10 million Series A led by General Catalyst on October 30, 2025. The New York startup is building an AI health companion that combines data from wearables, health platforms, nutrition logs and lifestyle inputs, then turns that information into coaching. The financing is historical, not a new August 2026 round. Bevel’s current app is also broader—and more expensive at the Pro level—than the product described in the funding announcement.
What Bevel raised, and what the money is for
Bevel, founded in 2023, said General Catalyst led its $10 million Series A. The company said it would use the capital to expand its team, continue developing the platform, add health services and partnerships, and build toward a more integrated health ecosystem. The announcement was covered by TechCrunch and described in the company’s financing release.
The round’s headline facts are public, but its economics are not. Bevel and General Catalyst did not disclose valuation, ownership sold, dilution, other Series A participants, total capital raised, revenue, gross margin, paid conversion or customer-acquisition cost. Those omissions matter: a $10 million round establishes the amount of new funding, not the company’s valuation or financial performance.

What Bevel actually does
Bevel is best understood as a data-interpretation and coaching layer, not as a sensor manufacturer. Its premise is that people already produce large amounts of health information, but that the information is split among smartwatches, sleep trackers, exercise records, food logs, glucose monitors, journals and, in the current product, health records and other context.
The app attempts to connect those inputs and explain what they may mean for a user’s sleep, recovery, strain, stress, exercise, nutrition and habits. In the 2025 financing coverage, Bevel said it supported Apple Watch and Apple Health, with direct syncing for Dexcom and Libre continuous glucose monitors; Garmin support was described as in development at that time.
This is a software-first model, but it is not hardware-independent. Useful results still depend on having compatible data sources, granting permissions and maintaining a reasonably complete history. A missing wearable feed is a missing measurement—not a normal measurement—and conflicting sources can produce confusing trends.
Bevel Intelligence
Bevel Intelligence is the product’s AI layer. It analyzes information across sleep, exercise, nutrition, lifestyle, recovery and strain, then generates explanations or recommendations. Current App Store release notes describe a wider feature set than the original funding story:

“AI health companion” describes a product category and marketing position. It does not establish medically validated diagnosis or clinically proven interventions. Apple’s listing states that Bevel is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent medical conditions: current U.S. App Store listing.
What evidence supports the growth story?
At the time of the Series A, Bevel said it had exceeded 100,000 daily active users, grown more than eightfold year over year, averaged eight app opens per user per day and retained more than 80% of users after 90 days. These are company-reported figures, reported by Bevel or based on its statements; they were not presented with an independent audit, cohort methodology, denominator, revenue figure or paid-conversion rate.
The figures are still relevant to an investor’s thesis. Frequent opens and reported retention suggest that some users make the app part of a routine. They do not prove durable behavior change, clinical benefit or a profitable subscription business.
Why General Catalyst may see an opportunity
The apparent investment case combines four trends:
- More wearable data: Consumers increasingly collect sleep, heart-rate, activity and recovery signals.
- Fragmented sources: Data is divided among Apple, Garmin, Oura, glucose-monitoring systems, nutrition apps and manual journals.
- Preventive-health interest: Consumers and investors are looking for ways to act on health information before a problem becomes acute.
- Software leverage: Bevel can build an interpretation product without manufacturing and distributing its own sensor.
General Catalyst publicly endorsed Bevel’s mission, engagement and proactive-health positioning. The harder questions remain an investment thesis: whether the company can keep users, personalize recommendations without overclaiming, produce meaningful behavior change and become a broad health platform while relying on data-access policies controlled by other companies.

Bevel versus WHOOP, Oura, Apple and Garmin
| Platform | Dedicated hardware required | Primary value | Subscription signal | Best fit | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bevel | No Bevel-branded device; compatible source devices are still needed | Aggregated interpretation, AI coaching and cross-domain context | Free tier; U.S. Pro listing observed in August 2026 at $14.99/month or $99.99/year, plus Intelligence credit packs | People who already own supported devices and want one coaching layer | Output depends on data quality, integrations and AI usage limits |
| WHOOP | Yes; hardware is included with membership | Controlled sensor-and-software performance and recovery system | WHOOP One lists $149 for the first year and $199 on renewal in the U.S.; see official pricing support | Athletes wanting a dedicated, tightly integrated sensor | Requires another device ecosystem and recurring membership |
| Oura | Yes; dedicated ring | Sleep, recovery, temperature and related proprietary data | Current price not stated in the available sources | Users who prefer a ring-based hardware ecosystem | Less flexible than an aggregation layer for people with multiple sources |
| Apple Watch and Apple Health | Apple Watch for the wearable data; Apple Health can act as the hub | Native collection, health records and fitness features | Hardware pricing varies; no current price is stated here | Apple users satisfied with native tools or seeking the underlying data source for Bevel | Bevel must add enough interpretation to justify another subscription |
| Garmin | Yes; Garmin device | Sport-specific hardware and training ecosystem | Device and service pricing vary by model and region | Runners, cyclists and athletes centered on Garmin Connect | Bevel integration behavior and supported fields can change |
TechCrunch discussed Bevel alongside WHOOP, Oura and Eight Sleep in the broader category: coverage of the financing. Bevel’s differentiator is not a new sensor; it is an attempt to interpret several vendors’ data in one place.

The October 2025 article described a simpler aggregation product and reported historical pricing of $6 per month or $50 per year. That is not the current U.S. price signal. Bevel’s membership documentation now describes a free tier and a Pro tier.
Current plan split
- Free: tracking for recovery, sleep, strain, stress, nutrition, strength, cycle, fitness, health monitors and journaling.
- Pro: Bevel Intelligence, Health Records and Biological Age.
The current U.S. App Store listing shows Bevel Pro at $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year, with separately purchasable Intelligence credit packs. The price shown to an individual can differ because of region, legacy pricing, billing status and Apple’s App Store rules. Bevel says continuously subscribed annual members retain their original price; monthly subscribers retain a preserved price through October 31, 2026, then move to the current monthly price.
The listing requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later and an Apple Watch running watchOS 10.6 or later where the watch app is used. Release notes indicate ongoing work on Garmin, Oura, Google Health, calendar context, blood-pressure-related features and other integrations, but support and available data fields can change by version and account.

Important limitations before paying
Aggregation does not guarantee accuracy
Devices may use different sampling rates, sleep definitions, time zones and heart-rate or HRV calculations. Two sources can create duplicate workouts or overlapping readings. Check source priority and disable redundant writes where necessary. Do not treat a combined score as inherently more accurate than the measurements behind it.
AI recommendations need inspection
Before acting on a recommendation, ask what data produced it, whether bad inputs can be corrected, whether uncertainty is explained and whether the app distinguishes correlation from causation. Personalization is only as strong as the completeness and compatibility of the underlying data.
Privacy and platform dependence
Calendar integrations and health records increase the sensitivity of the information involved. Apple Health storage does not by itself prove that every downstream process stays inside Apple’s systems. Review Bevel’s current privacy documentation before connecting records or calendars. The app also depends on APIs and permission policies controlled by Apple, Garmin, Oura, Dexcom, Libre and other vendors.
Subscriptions, credits and refunds
Apple processes Bevel subscriptions. To cancel on an iPhone, go to Settings → Apple ID/name → Subscriptions → Bevel → Cancel Subscription. Paid features remain available through the current billing period. Refund requests go through Apple’s reporting system rather than directly through Bevel. Existing subscribers may see different prices from new customers, and Intelligence credit limits can add another layer of cost.

Who should try Bevel?
- Good fit: You already own an Apple Watch, Garmin, Oura or another supported source; want sleep, training, nutrition and recovery in one view; and prefer software interpretation over buying another sensor.
- Questionable fit: You want a tightly controlled hardware system, specialized single-sport analytics, or a simple step and sleep tracker rather than an all-in-one product.
- Poor fit: You need diagnosis, treatment or clinical monitoring; have little compatible data; dislike recurring subscriptions or usage-based AI credits; or expect every recommendation to be medically validated.
Bottom line for users and investors
Bevel’s $10 million General Catalyst round gives the company resources to pursue a software layer across a fragmented wearable market. For consumers, the practical proposition is straightforward: use the free tier with devices you already own, then decide whether Pro’s AI, Health Records and Biological Age features justify the current U.S. subscription. For investors, the open question is whether better synthesis leads to durable behavior change and defensible health outcomes—not merely more polished dashboards. Bevel can support wellness decisions, but its own App Store disclosure means it should not replace professional medical evaluation.
