Checked against Samsung UK offer pages on 18 August 2026; deadlines and checkout eligibility must be rechecked before ordering. The biggest Samsung headline saving was up to £752 on selected Galaxy Z Fold8 models with an eligible trade-in, while the best accessory-led offer was the Galaxy Tab S11 keyboard-cover bundle. But neither is automatically the cheapest option: the real cost depends on your old device, the exact storage version, promotional codes, payment method, retailer price and whether you would have bought the bundled accessory anyway.
One important date has already passed: the advertised Samsung “Buy and Try” qualifying-purchase deadline was 8 September 2026. Unless Samsung has extended it, do not rely on that promotion now.

Samsung’s official offers page is the starting point for mobile, television, appliance and computing promotions: Samsung UK offers. The final basket total, not the banner, should decide the purchase.
Best Samsung phone deal: Galaxy Z Fold8 or Fold8 Ultra
The strongest advertised phone promotion in the supplied UK offer snapshot was for the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra: up to £752 off through a smartphone or tablet trade-in, with an additional £100 discount using code Z8 in one version of Samsung’s promotion.
That does not mean every buyer receives £852 off. The £752 is a maximum tied to the model, condition and valuation of the device you surrender. Samsung also states that trade-in discounts are capped at 60% of the product price before discount in the relevant terms. A separate Samsung page advertised £100 off when paying with PayPal, but the supplied offer pages did not establish that PayPal, the trade-in discount and Z8 can all be combined.

Best approach: price the Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and previous-generation alternatives with your exact trade-in selected, then test Z8 and PayPal separately in the basket. Record the final payable amount before sending your old device.
Foldables are a poor deal if your priority is the lowest long-term cost, inexpensive repairs or ruggedness. A lower cash price on an older Galaxy S-series phone may be better financial value.

Samsung advertised up to £553 off the Galaxy Z Flip8 with a smartphone trade-in. Other page versions showed an additional discount—£100 in one version and £50 through PayPal in another—so these should be treated as checkout-dependent, not guaranteed stackable savings.
The Flip8 is the more sensible foldable for buyers who want a compact phone when closed, but it is not automatically cheaper after trade-in than a conventional Galaxy S or A-series handset. Compare the final SIM-free price and expected repair or insurance costs, not just the maximum discount.
Best Samsung deal without a trade-in
The supplied evidence does not establish a single universally cheapest no-trade-in Samsung product. The most credible alternatives are:
- A straight Samsung discount that applies without surrendering a device.
- A free accessory you would otherwise buy, such as the Tab S11 Slim Book Cover Keyboard.
- A retailer cash-price reduction from John Lewis, Currys, Argos, Amazon UK or another authorised seller.
- A previous-generation Galaxy model whose current selling price is lower than its launch price.
Do not describe a £752 maximum trade-in allowance as a no-trade-in deal. Likewise, do not count a £199 keyboard cover as £199 of cash saving unless you would genuinely have bought it.

Samsung’s shopping pages showed approximately £22–£117 off with a smartwatch trade-in, plus a £15 discount using code W9 in one page version. Another page displayed different minimum values, demonstrating why the exact model being traded in matters.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2
The Watch Ultra2 showed approximately £27–£132 off with a smartwatch trade-in, with a £30 W9 discount shown in one version. John Lewis also displayed an extra £80 for a Watch Ultra2 trade-in through its Likewise service in one listing, although retailer promotions and dates can change.
Compare Bluetooth or Wi-Fi models with LTE versions. LTE is useful only if you want the watch to operate away from your phone and are prepared for the associated network cost. The Ultra2 is poor value for casual notification and step-counting use; the Watch9 is usually the more rational choice for ordinary Android users. Galaxy Watch features and compatibility should also be checked if you do not use a Samsung phone.
Best Samsung tablet deal: Galaxy Tab S11
Samsung advertised savings of up to £440 on the Galaxy Tab S11 range, with trade-in savings of up to £250 in one listing. A separate offer showed a Slim Book Cover Keyboard worth up to £199 with code TAB11.

It is not a real £199 saving if the tablet will mainly be used for streaming or browsing. Compare the tablet-only price, storage capacity and Wi-Fi versus 5G version before valuing the bundle. An older Tab S-series model may provide better value if you do not need the newest processor or software support.
Samsung TVs and appliances
Samsung’s offers page advertised up to 15% off selected TVs and up to £250 Trade Up on selected OLED and Micro RGB models. These are model-specific offers, not a blanket discount across Samsung televisions. Compare the current selling price—not just Samsung’s RRP—with Currys, John Lewis and other authorised retailers.

For a television trade-up, check the eligible old product, collection or recycling requirements, delivery, installation and removal charges. A valuable old TV may be worth more through resale than through a trade-up credit.
Samsung also advertised multi-buy discounts of up to 20% on selected appliance combinations. Buy extra appliances only if you need them. Check delivery, installation, disposal, energy consumption and warranty terms; a percentage discount can be outweighed by service charges or unnecessary spending.

Samsung direct versus retailers
Samsung direct is not automatically cheapest. It may win when a trade-in bonus, promotional code and useful accessory combine. A retailer may instead offer a lower cash price, better delivery, easier returns, a trade-in bonus or stronger support.

Do not call Samsung the cheapest without checking the same model, storage, condition and warranty basis across the relevant retailers. A marketplace listing may not qualify for Samsung’s promotion unless its seller and retailer are included in the terms.
How Samsung trade-in really works
- Select the exact old device, storage and condition in Samsung’s valuation tool.
- Compare the instant Samsung credit with a private-sale price and retailer buyback quote.
- Back up the old device, remove accounts and security locks, factory-reset it and photograph its condition.
- Send it by the stated deadline and retain proof of dispatch.
- Expect the valuation to be revised if the device has a cracked screen, water damage, battery fault, carrier lock, missing components or a condition different from the declaration.
Failure to send the device, or a failed inspection, can result in charges or a lower final value under Samsung’s terms. A private sale may pay more, but Samsung’s instant discount can be worth choosing if convenience and certainty matter more.

- Trade-in plus PayPal discount: not established by the supplied evidence; do not budget for both.
- Bundle discount plus another code: product and account dependent.
- Student, key-worker, teacher or business discount plus public promotion: check the dedicated scheme’s terms; stackability is not guaranteed.
- Cashback plus Samsung code: cashback can be rejected if a code, tracking issue or excluded retailer is involved.
- Finance plus promotion: compare APR, fees and total repayable, not merely the monthly payment.
Samsung’s terms sometimes prohibit combining discounts with price drops, trade-in offers or voucher codes, while other pages advertise combinations. Treat a combination as confirmed only when the current terms say so or the final checkout total visibly includes it.

Buy and Try: a refund promotion, not a free phone
Samsung advertised a “Buy and Try” promotion for qualifying SIM-free purchases of the Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, Flip8, Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 made by 8 September 2026. The terms described registration within 30 days, return in good condition within a stated 45–100-day window and payment up to RRP by bank transfer, subject to the promotion rules.
Because 8 September 2026 has passed, assume this offer is closed unless Samsung has published an extension. Even when open, it should be treated as a trial-and-refund arrangement: you must register, preserve the product’s condition, meet the return deadline and satisfy the claim requirements. It was described for SIM-free purchases, not ordinary network contracts. Check whether accessories or promotional gifts must also be returned, who pays return shipping and when reimbursement is made.
How to find the lowest realistic price
- Choose the exact model, colour, storage and connectivity version.
- Check Samsung direct and note the cash price before promotions.
- Enter your trade-in device and save the valuation.
- Apply the relevant current code, such as
Z8,W9orTAB11, only if the product page confirms eligibility. - Test PayPal or another required payment method, but do not assume its discount stacks.
- Compare the identical specification with John Lewis, Currys, Argos, Amazon UK, AO and relevant networks.
- For a contract, calculate the upfront payment plus every monthly payment, including stated annual increases.
- Subtract only confirmed cashback and give free accessories a value only if you would buy them.
- Check seller identity, UK warranty, stock or pre-order status, return policy and promotion territory.
- Screenshot the final basket and terms, then complete the trade-in or cashback claim promptly.
A useful calculation is: effective cost = purchase price − instant discount − confirmed trade-in credit − confirmed cashback. Keep accessory value separate from cash savings.
Deals to avoid
- A maximum trade-in headline when your device is not eligible or is worth substantially less.
- An expired offer, including promotions whose deadline was in July or early August 2026.
- A contract described as “free” without its full-term cost and annual increases.
- A bundle containing accessories you do not need.
- A marketplace product with unclear seller, warranty or promotion eligibility.
- A percentage saving calculated only against RRP when another retailer sells the product for less.
- Finance where the APR, fees or total repayable amount are hidden.
- A TV or appliance trade-up whose collection, installation or disposal charges erase the credit.
Regional and eligibility checks
Samsung promotions can distinguish between England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Before ordering, read the specific promotion terms for your delivery address. Also check whether the product is sold by Samsung or an authorised participating retailer, whether a Samsung account is required, and whether the selected colour, storage tier or network version is excluded.

Is Samsung trade-in worth it?
It can be, particularly when Samsung adds an instant bonus, but compare the quoted credit with a private-sale or retailer buyback value. Convenience may justify accepting a lower amount; it should not be treated as free money.
Does Buy and Try mean the Samsung phone is free?
