Best overall for Samsung compatibility: Samsung’s 45W 20,000mAh Battery Pack. Best compact pick: Anker Nano 10K 45W. Best for a phone plus laptop: UGREEN’s 20,000mAh 100W power bank. The S23 Ultra supports up to 45W wired charging, but reaching Samsung’s fastest charging mode depends on the power bank’s USB-C Power Delivery with PPS support and a suitable 5A cable—not just a high wattage label.
What the Galaxy S23 Ultra needs from a power bank
Samsung rates the Galaxy S23 Ultra for a 5,000mAh battery and up to 45W wired charging. For the quickest compatible wired charging, look for USB-C Power Delivery (PD) with Programmable Power Supply (PPS). PD is the charging protocol; PPS lets compatible devices negotiate voltage and current dynamically. Samsung calls its 45W mode Super Fast Charging 2.0. A power bank can charge the phone without supporting PPS, but basic compatibility does not establish that it will deliver Samsung’s fastest mode. Samsung’s S23 Ultra specifications and its charging-accessory guidance explain the phone and accessory compatibility.
Forty-five watts is a maximum charging class, not a rate the phone draws continuously. An independent test measured about 57 minutes to charge from 1% to 100% with 45W USB PD PPS, compared with about 73 minutes using 25W PD PPS. Those are test results, not guaranteed times: battery level, temperature, cable, phone use and power-bank behavior all affect charging. Android Authority’s S23 Ultra charging test describes its measurements.
A 100W power bank will not charge the S23 Ultra at 100W. Its extra output matters if you also charge a laptop or other high-draw USB-C device. For the phone alone, a well-specified 45W PPS port can be a better fit than a higher-rated port without the right PPS profiles.

Which power bank fits your use?
Choose Samsung’s pack for the clearest Samsung match
Samsung’s 20,000mAh pack is the safest compatibility-first choice: the manufacturer names the S23 Ultra, specifies 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 and includes a 5A USB-C cable. It has three ports, but do not expect 45W on each at once. Samsung says three connected devices can receive up to 15W per port, and Super Fast Charging 2.0 applies to one compatible device at a time. The pack weighs 403g, a meaningful addition to the 234g phone. Its US product page did not provide a reliable price in the available listing, so check the current price before buying.

Choose Anker’s 10K for a compact, cable-included carry
The Anker Nano combines a 10,000mAh capacity, a retractable USB-C cable, a USB-C port and a USB-A port in a compact format. An independent review reports dimensions of 81 × 50 × 36mm and a $59.99 list price. Anker’s US collection showed approximately $54.99 sale / $59.99 list for this model on August 18, 2026; prices can change. Its integrated cable saves packing space, but cable damage is less easily remedied than replacing a separate cable. The available specifications do not establish that this particular model triggers Super Fast Charging 2.0 on the S23 Ultra, so treat it as a convenient 45W-class option rather than a confirmed Samsung-fast pick. See the independent Anker Nano review.
Choose UGREEN when you also need laptop power
UGREEN’s 20,000mAh model makes sense when the battery must serve more than the phone. Its USB-C1 supports PD and PPS at up to 100W, while USB-C2 is rated up to 30W and USB-A up to 22.5W; the product page specifies PPS on USB-C1, so use that port for the S23 Ultra. It recharges at up to 65W, weighs 420g and measures 139 × 80 × 26.5mm. The 72Wh capacity is below the commonly referenced 100Wh threshold for ordinary portable power banks, but airline policies still vary. It has no wireless charging. Choose it for shared laptop/tablet duty, not because its 100W rating makes the S23 Ultra charge faster.

Consider INIU SnapGo Air for magnetic convenience, with caveats
TechRadar’s review reports a 10,000mAh capacity, 45W wired output, up to 25W magnetic wireless charging, two USB-C ports and a detachable USB-C cable. The reported weight is 196g and thickness 13.8mm; its US list price at launch on May 15, 2026 was $54.99. Those wireless specifications should not be read as an S23 Ultra-specific 25W promise. The S23 Ultra lacks Apple-style built-in MagSafe magnets, so magnetic attachment may require a compatible case or ring, and the camera bump can affect fit. The available information does not establish an official purchase page or current US availability. For the review’s specifications, see TechRadar’s SnapGo Air review.
Pick capacity by how you carry and charge
- 5,000mAh: Emergency top-ups in a very small package; less suited to a full day of heavy use.
- 10,000mAh: A practical portability choice for phone-first users.
- 20,000mAh: More useful for travel, several top-ups or charging more than one device, at the cost of substantially more weight.
- 25,000mAh and above: Better suited to extended trips or laptop-oriented use, but heavier and subject to closer airline-policy checks.
Capacity is stored energy; wattage is how quickly compatible devices can receive it. The mAh printed on a power bank usually describes its internal cells at roughly 3.6–3.7V, not energy delivered at the phone’s battery voltage. Voltage conversion, heat and charging losses mean a 20,000mAh bank does not provide four perfect recharges of a 5,000mAh phone battery. Actual results also depend on how much you use the phone while charging and the bank’s condition. Wh is more useful than mAh when comparing energy or checking travel rules.

Use the right port and cable for fast charging
For 45W Samsung charging, use a USB-C-to-USB-C cable rated for 5A, often an electronically marked cable, and a power-bank USB-C port with PPS support. Samsung includes a 5A cable with its 45W pack. A 3A cable may still charge the phone, but can restrict the highest mode depending on the negotiated profile. A cable labeled 100W does not prove the power bank has PPS, and an integrated cable’s current rating should be checked rather than assumed.
Power sharing can change the result. On the Samsung pack, connecting three devices limits each port to up to 15W, and its 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 mode is for one compatible device at a time. On UGREEN, the PPS-capable port is USB-C1; using another port or sharing output may change available power. Check each model’s port-specific output before connecting several devices.

Wired or wireless charging?
Wired USB-C is the better choice when speed and energy efficiency matter, especially for a nearly empty phone, navigation, gaming or a hot environment. Wireless charging is convenient for short top-ups or cable-free use, but is generally less efficient and can create more heat. A power bank’s advertised wireless wattage may refer to a device-specific mode and does not guarantee that the S23 Ultra receives that rate.
Magnetic power banks need particular care with the S23 Ultra: it does not have built-in MagSafe magnets, and attachment may require a magnetic case or ring. Case thickness, camera-bump clearance and alignment can affect stability. Treat magnetic charging as a convenience feature, not a substitute for a verified PPS wired connection.
Taking a power bank on a flight
The Samsung 20,000mAh pack is marked 74Wh and UGREEN’s 20,000mAh model is 72Wh; both are below the commonly referenced 100Wh threshold for ordinary portable power banks. This is not a blanket airline approval: rules can differ by carrier and route and may change. Spare lithium batteries generally belong in carry-on baggage rather than checked luggage. Check your airline’s current policy and keep the watt-hour marking visible.
Troubleshoot ordinary charging or a slow 100W bank
If the phone does not show Super Fast Charging
- Connect to the power bank’s USB-C port, not USB-A, and use USB-C-to-USB-C.
- Confirm that the specific port supports PPS; a general PD or “Samsung-compatible” label is not enough.
- Try a 5A-rated cable if the bank supports the required PPS profile.
- Disconnect other devices and check that low-power or trickle mode is not enabled.
- Test with the phone cool and the screen mostly off; a nearly empty or hot bank can also limit output.
- Review the phone’s charging settings in the current One UI version. Menu wording may vary, so use the settings search rather than relying on a fixed path.
If a 100W bank charges slowly
Check whether PPS is on the port you are using, whether the cable supports the needed current, and whether other devices are drawing power. A 100W headline can describe laptop-oriented output profiles rather than Samsung PPS. For example, UGREEN specifies PPS on USB-C1, not USB-C2; use USB-C1 for the S23 Ultra.
Quick Recap
If the bank seems to provide too few recharges or keeps disconnecting
- Fewer recharges than the printed mAh suggests are expected because conversion losses reduce usable output; phone use and heat can reduce it further.
- For charging that stops and starts, check for a loose or damaged cable, a dirty phone port, heat, power-bank auto-shutoff or cable strain while using the phone.
