Where can you order personal checks?
These are practical places to compare. A bank-linked order can be convenient, while independent retail check services offer their own designs and ordering terms.

Your bank or credit union
Use the check-order link in your financial institution’s online banking or contact it for the correct reorder route. The printer may be a third party. Deluxe says that for orders through its bank-linked site, the financial institution sells the checks to the customer, while Deluxe manufactures them and processes, handles, and delivers retail orders. The financial institution sets retail prices and fees; arrangements, discounts, shipping, handling, and taxes can affect the total. Costco Checks
Costco’s check service, which identifies Harland Clarke as a Vericast business, offers personal and business designs as well as high-security options. Costco advertises free trackable standard delivery for members and free standard shipping on personal check orders. Check membership eligibility and the specific terms shown at checkout. Walmart Checks
Walmart offers personal check designs in single and duplicate formats and different pack quantities. On September 27, 2026, its Yellow High Security Checks page displayed a pack of 120 for $25.85 for single checks and $28.25 for duplicates. How to compare check prices fairly
Compare the same quantity and format, then calculate the final delivered cost. A headline price for single checks is not directly comparable with a price for duplicates or a different pack size.

The available provider pages do not establish a complete, matched-quantity comparison of current all-in prices, so no provider can be called the universally cheapest. NerdWallet’s guide, updated March 27, 2026, says some banks provide checks free or at different prices depending on account type, and names Costco, Sam’s Club, and Walmart among lower-cost check-printing options. What check security features should you compare?
Look at the features included in the exact check design you plan to order. Providers describe features intended to deter copying, alteration, or counterfeiting, but those descriptions do not establish how much fraud any particular feature prevents.
