A headline discount is a maximum-style claim, not a department-wide promise. The indexed Joe’s jacket example displayed a 78% discount, while the cited Waffle Throw example displayed 58%; neither establishes what a shopper will find today. Prices, stock, markdown labels, and eligible variants can change, and a discount attached to one product or variant should not be generalized to its category.
For a useful comparison, consider the current price, the particular size or color available, whether the item is still in stock, and any sale restrictions. A higher displayed percentage alone does not tell you whether the purchase suits your needs or compares favorably with other prices.
