There is no defensible universal list of the seven best international business banks: availability, eligibility, fees and account protections depend on where your company and its owners are based. The right provider may be a traditional bank, a fintech or a payment platform, depending on whether you need a wider banking relationship or mainly need to receive, hold, convert and send money across borders.
If you are comparing the best international business bank accounts, treat the names below as places to start—not a ranked recommendation. The available product information does not support seven comparable picks for one market. Check local eligibility and current official terms before applying.
What counts as an international business bank?
The phrase can describe two different kinds of provider, and the distinction matters. A conventional bank may offer business banking alongside international services. A fintech or payment platform may offer multi-currency balances, local account details or cross-border transfers without being the same kind of institution as a deposit-taking bank.
- Traditional bank: Consider this route if you want international payment features alongside everyday business banking or a broader relationship with a bank.
- Fintech or payment platform: Consider this route if your main needs are handling multiple currencies, receiving customer payments or paying overseas vendors. Check the legal entity providing the account and how funds are held.
Do not assume that a multi-currency account is a bank deposit or carries the same protections as a bank account. The applicable terms and protections depend on the product and jurisdiction.

Which providers are worth comparing?
The available provider evidence does not establish seven comparable, independently verified picks. HSBC describes one relevant bank product, while a provider-authored comparison names five other options. Wise appears in both sources, leaving six unique names—not seven confirmed recommendations.
HSBC Global Wallet for Business
HSBC describes Global Wallet as a multi-currency account for international transactions used alongside everyday business banking through Business Internet Banking. Its UK product page says fees, eligibility criteria and terms apply. HSBC’s page about receiving international payments describes multiple currency wallets and local payment details, and limits the stated availability to defined groups of business banking customers in the UK, US, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. These are not blanket eligibility guarantees; check the current market list and customer criteria on HSBC Global Wallet and HSBC’s international payments page.
Airwallex, Wise, Payoneer, Revolut and Chase
Airwallex’s comparison, published September 3, 2026, names Airwallex, Wise, Payoneer, Revolut and Chase and compares features such as currency holding, transfer coverage, cards and account fees. Airwallex is both the publisher and one of the providers compared, so treat its presentation as company-authored, not a neutral ranking. The page is a starting point for identifying providers, not proof that each is available or suitable for your company. Check each provider’s official product terms and fee schedule in your market. See Airwallex’s comparison.
Wise Business
Wise’s US business page describes international customer payments, multi-currency features and business cards. It also names a program bank for the US product, illustrating why you should inspect the account’s legal and partner-bank disclosures rather than equating every multi-currency service with a conventional bank account. The page is US-specific; verify the applicable terms for your location at Wise Business US.

Start with your actual payment corridors: the countries and currencies in which you receive money, hold balances, convert funds and pay vendors. A provider’s headline currency count is less useful than whether it supports the currencies, local account details, payment destinations and payment rails your transactions require.
- Confirm eligibility first. Check the company registration countries accepted, owner or residency requirements, and whether the specific account is available to your type of business. Availability in one country does not establish eligibility elsewhere.
- Identify the account provider and legal structure. Establish whether you are dealing with a bank, electronic money institution or payment platform, which entity holds the funds, and what the local agreement says about safeguarding or deposit protection.
- Map the transaction features you need. For every important currency and destination, verify whether the provider supports receiving, holding, converting and sending funds, and whether it offers local account details or the payment rails your customers and vendors use.
- Calculate the full cost of a typical month. Include any account or platform charge, incoming and outgoing payment fees, receiving or intermediary charges, card transaction charges, and the exchange-rate margin or conversion fee. Compare the total for your expected transaction pattern, not just the advertised monthly fee.
- Check how the account will work for your team. If more than one person needs access, verify card availability, user controls, transaction reporting and any accounting integrations you rely on. Check support and relationship-manager access too if those are important to your business.
- Read the current local terms before opening the account. Confirm minimum balances, waiver conditions, applicable fees and protections in the official terms for your market. Product features and eligibility can differ by jurisdiction.
Which bank handles international payments best?
There is no single best choice for every company. The answer depends on your payment routes and whether you value a broader bank relationship, multi-currency payment features, or a combination. A provider that works well for receiving money in one market may not support your destination, business eligibility or desired account protections in another.
Use the same market, business profile and expected transactions when comparing providers. If you cannot confirm a provider’s fees, eligibility or legal protections from its current official terms, treat that information as unverified rather than assuming the provider is comparable to one whose terms you have checked.
