The best insole for a Jordan 1 depends on what you want—softer cushioning or a more structured feel—and whether it fits your exact pair without crowding your foot. No official source reviewed tests aftermarket insoles across Jordan 1 models, so treat any option as one to try, not a proven winner for every wearer.
What insoles fit Jordan 1s?
Start with your exact shoe: High, Mid, Low, Retro and other Jordan 1 versions may differ. Nike’s listing for one specific model, the Air Jordan 1 Low SE, describes Nike Air cushioning, a foam midsole and a rubber outsole. Those details should not be assumed to apply to every Jordan 1.
Two options to consider are a comfort-oriented insert and a more structured footbed. Compare the feel you want, the insert’s arch shape and thickness, whether it can be trimmed, and how much room remains inside your shoe. A structured insole may take up more interior volume; the fit in your actual pair matters more than the product category.
| Option | What the brand says | What to check in your Jordan 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Scholl’s Float-On-Air Comfort Insoles | Dr. Scholl’s presents these for sneakers and other footwear and provides insertion instructions. Read the product instructions. | Remove the original insert first if it lifts out; place the replacement fabric-side up and make sure it lies flat. If layering is allowed because the original is not removable, check that the shoe does not feel too tight. |
| Superfeet full-length or court-sport insoles | Superfeet describes full-length insoles as trim-to-fit and offers a court-sports collection. | Follow the trimming guide and check the structured footbed’s volume and arch feel in the shoe. Superfeet recommends a 1–2 mm gap between the insole and the end of the footwear. See the fitting guide. |
These are fitting candidates, not Jordan 1-specific performance recommendations. The available sources do not establish that either improves comfort for all wearers or fits every variant.

Can you remove the original Jordan 1 insole?
Removability is not established across the Jordan 1 family. If the footbed lifts out without force, you can use it as a rough length-and-shape reference when comparing a replacement. Do not yank an insert that will not come out easily, and do not assume every model has a removable one.
Dr. Scholl’s says to remove the factory insole first if it is removable. Its FAQ says an insert may go over a non-removable factory insole only if the shoe remains comfortable and does not feel too tight. Read Dr. Scholl’s FAQ.

Will a thicker insole make a Jordan 1 too tight?
It can reduce the room inside the shoe, but the result depends on the original footbed, the replacement’s thickness and the shape of your foot. Check for pressure at the toes, sides and top of the foot rather than relying on the insole’s label or claimed use.
- Check the original footbed. If it comes out easily, remove it before trying the replacement. If it does not, layer only when the insole maker permits it.
- Trim only as directed. For Superfeet, use the fitting guide and leave the recommended 1–2 mm gap at the shoe’s end. Do not trim based on a different shoe’s dimensions.
- Seat the insert flat. For Dr. Scholl’s Float-On-Air, the brand instructs users to insert it fabric-side up and ensure it lies flat.
- Test indoors while standing and walking. Check whether the shoe still feels secure and comfortable without pinching, heel movement or toe crowding. Do not rely on a setup that feels too tight.
- Check the seller’s return terms. A fit that feels acceptable while seated may feel different when walking; review the applicable return or satisfaction policy before buying.
How should you choose between cushioning and structure?
Choose a cushioning-oriented insert if you want a softer feel
Dr. Scholl’s Float-On-Air is presented for sneakers and includes specific fitting instructions. It is a reasonable option to test if your priority is cushioning, provided the insert fits flat and leaves enough room. The brand says most of its insoles and orthotics are designed to last six months with regular use; that is general brand guidance, not a Jordan 1-specific lifespan guarantee or a measured result for your wear pattern.

An insole recommendation cannot establish or treat the cause of persistent pain. If you have ongoing symptoms or a diagnosed foot condition, ask a qualified clinician about footwear and orthotic choices rather than treating a general product suggestion as medical advice.

Does changing the insole affect Nike’s shoe warranty?
Nike’s warranty help page says removable components supplied with a shoe, including insoles, are not eligible for replacement through its shoe warranty process. That policy does not establish whether the stock footbed in a particular Jordan 1 is removable, nor does it rule out third-party replacements. Check Nike’s shoe warranty guidance for the applicable terms.
