The best deal depends on what “best” means. For an unlocked buyer, the roughly $510 Pixel 7 Pro was the strongest documented bargain. For most buyers seeking value, the roughly $480 Pixel 7 256GB was easier to recommend. A carefully checked refurbished Pixel 7 offered the lowest cost, while carrier promotions made sense only when the required service commitment already fit the buyer’s plans.

The strongest unlocked Pixel 7 deals
March 2024 deal coverage reported an Amazon price of approximately $479.99 for the 256GB Pixel 7. That represented about 31.4% below the $699 launch price associated with that configuration. The phone originally launched from $599 for the base model, and the Pixel 7 became available through major U.S. carriers on October 13, 2022. The launch pricing is useful as a reference point, but it is not the same as the Pixel 7’s 2024 market value.

The 256GB version was especially attractive because the additional storage reduced the risk of running out of space for photos and 4K video. Buyers who found a cheaper 128GB listing should compare the storage difference rather than treating the lower sticker price as automatically better.
Amazon listings could include different colors, storage tiers, coupons, sellers and conditions. Before paying, confirm that the listing says unlocked, identifies the exact storage capacity, describes the phone as new rather than renewed, and clearly states the seller and return policy. A marketplace listing should not be treated as manufacturer-direct inventory simply because it appears on Amazon.

The strongest unlocked Pixel 7 Pro deal
The best documented outright Pixel 7 Pro price was approximately $509.99 for the 128GB model at Amazon. Against the $899 launch price, that was roughly 43.3% off. Unlike a carrier-credit promotion, this price did not require activation, a new line or a trade-in according to the cited March 2024 coverage.
At only about $30 more than the reported 256GB Pixel 7 price, the Pro was compelling for shoppers who wanted its larger display and dedicated telephoto camera. That price relationship made the Pro the better hardware bargain, although not necessarily the better phone for everyone.

The 128GB capacity is adequate for lighter users, but frequent photographers and anyone who records substantial 4K video should compare the price of the 256GB version. A headline discount may apply to only one color or storage tier, and Pro inventory could change faster than the headline article suggested.
Refurbished Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro deals
Back Market listings cited in March 2024 started at approximately $237.49 for a refurbished 128GB Pixel 7. That was the lowest upfront price among the documented options, but it was not directly comparable with a new, unlocked phone. The cited listing was described as functional, unlocked and covered by a one-year warranty.
Refurbished phones are not one uniform product category. Two listings at the same price can differ in battery health, screen condition, frame damage, included accessories, seller reputation and return rights. Water resistance can also be less predictable after prior use or repair. Google says the Pixel 7 series has an IP68 rating when leaving the factory, but resistance can diminish through wear, damage, repair or disassembly; liquid damage may not be covered by warranty.
Before buying a refurbished Pixel, verify:
- Battery-health disclosure or battery-replacement policy
- Cosmetic grade and whether the display has scratches or burn-in
- Factory-unlocked status and U.S. network compatibility
- IMEI or blacklist protections
- Warranty provider and length
- Return period and who pays return shipping
- Included charger and accessories
- Seller rating and fulfillment responsibility
Google launched its U.S. Certified Refurbished program on October 28, 2024, including Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones. Google said the devices were inspected and repaired with authentic Google parts where necessary, and advertised savings of up to 40% from original retail prices. That “up to” claim applied to the program generally, not automatically to every Pixel 7 listing.

See Google’s Certified Refurbished announcement and current inventory at the Google Store. A manufacturer-certified refurb can justify paying more than a marketplace listing when warranty certainty and condition matter more than the lowest possible price.
Carrier and trade-in promotions
Carrier offers should be evaluated separately from unlocked cash prices. A phone advertised as free or heavily discounted may actually be paid for through 36 monthly installments, with promotional credits that disappear if the line is canceled, the phone is paid off early or eligibility changes.

The AT&T totals above are before taxes, fees and any trade-in credits. They also exclude the cost of the required wireless plan. A lower monthly payment is not necessarily a lower total cost.

Total cost = device payment × number of months + taxes and fees + required plan cost − guaranteed bill credits − confirmed trade-in value.
Do not subtract promotional credits that are merely advertised as possible, or that stop when you switch carriers. Also check whether early payoff ends the credits and whether a financed phone remains carrier-locked until the carrier’s requirements are met.

Pixel 7 versus Pixel 7 Pro
The Pixel 7 is the better choice for shoppers who want a smaller, cheaper phone. It has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, Google Tensor G2 and 128GB or 256GB storage options.

The Pixel 7 Pro is aimed at buyers who value a larger display and more camera flexibility. It has a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage. Google advertised up to 8x Super Res Zoom on Pixel 7 and up to 30x on Pixel 7 Pro at launch.

The Pro is not automatically a better value. It is larger and heavier, and its advantages may not justify a large premium for someone who prefers compact phones or rarely uses telephoto zoom. Official specifications are listed in Google’s Pixel 7 comparison documentation.
Should you buy a Pixel 7 instead of a Pixel 8?
In 2024, the Pixel 7 remained attractive when discounted heavily, especially below roughly $500 unlocked or in good refurbished condition. However, buyers should compare the final price with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a offers before committing.

Google’s stated policy gives Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro five years of updates from their U.S. Google Store availability date. Both became available in October 2022, so the support runway was shorter than that of Pixel 8. Google says Pixel 8 and later receive seven years of updates. A Pixel 8 that cost modestly more could therefore be the better long-term purchase, even if the Pixel 7 had the lower upfront price.
Five years of updates does not mean every newer Pixel feature will reach Pixel 7. Feature availability can depend on hardware, region and the Android release. Google’s update-policy details are available on its support page, while Google explains the Pixel 8 support commitment in its Pixel 8 announcement.
Which 2024 deal type was right for each buyer?
- Unlocked buyer: Choose the approximately $479.99 Pixel 7 256GB for value, or the approximately $509.99 Pixel 7 Pro 128GB if the larger screen and telephoto camera matter.
- Lowest upfront cost: Consider the approximately $237.49 refurbished Pixel 7, but only when the listing clearly states condition, warranty, battery policy and return rights.
- Buyer with a trade-in: Compare Best Buy and carrier offers using the actual trade-in value, not the advertised maximum. A high credit may be worthwhile if the plan and installment commitment already suit you.
- Customer adding a carrier line: Verizon or AT&T financing could be reasonable when you already intend to remain with that carrier for the full term. It is a poor fit if you may switch soon.
- Refurbished-phone shopper: Pay more for Google Certified Refurbished if manufacturer-backed condition and support are priorities; choose a marketplace listing only when its protections are explicit.
- Pixel 7 versus Pixel 7 Pro: Buy the Pixel 7 for size and price. Buy the Pro when its display and zoom hardware justify the premium.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the exact model, storage capacity and color.
- Check whether it is new, renewed, used or certified refurbished.
- Confirm factory-unlocked status rather than assuming it from the title.
- Verify the U.S. model and compatibility with your network.
- Read the seller identity, return window and warranty terms.
- For refurbished phones, check battery disclosure and cosmetic grade.
- For carrier deals, calculate every installment, tax, fee, plan charge and credit.
- Check whether a new line, activation or trade-in is mandatory.
- Confirm what happens to credits if you cancel service, upgrade or pay off the phone early.
- Compare the final Pixel 7 price with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a offers and their longer support commitments.
