What “best early Black Friday deals” meant in 2025
There was no single start date for the U.S. sales season. Retailers ran separate events, and their advertised discounts were their own claims—not independent confirmation that shoppers paid less than the usual market price. Target, for example, advertised “up to” discounts, which do not mean every eligible item received the maximum reduction.

These dates come from retailer announcements: Target’s October 30, 2025 update; Amazon’s event information and U.S. press announcement; and Macy’s November 6, 2025 announcement. They describe different retailer calendars, not one universal sale period.

Amazon’s official deals roundup also featured examples from air fryers, headphones, computers, TVs, cameras and smart-home products. The roundup establishes category coverage, not a specific model’s current price or stock. The discount figures above are retailer statements, not independently audited savings.
How to judge whether a sale price is genuinely good
A discount label alone is not enough to decide whether a purchase fits your budget. Before buying, compare the exact item and its final price with credible price history and other sellers. A “save up to” headline describes a ceiling, not the typical discount across a category.

- Check the exact product. Match model or generation, size, color, bundle contents and included accessories. Similar names can refer to different versions.
- Compare the actual price. Look at the checkout price, not just the advertised percentage. Compare it with price history and competing retailers where available.
- Read eligibility and fulfillment terms. Check membership or coupon requirements, stock limits, shipping or pickup, returns and any price-match conditions.
- Decide based on the need. A lower price is not savings if you would not otherwise buy the item or if it forces you to spend outside your budget.
- Keep a record. For a planned purchase, note the model and a reasonable target price in advance so a temporary discount does not substitute for comparison.
TechRadar says its deals guide uses price history and comparison tools. That is a useful approach to evaluating offers, but a general guide cannot verify the terms or price of every individual listing.
What the announcements do—and do not—show
Retailer announcements show which offers and sale windows companies promoted. They do not by themselves show that a percentage-off claim was the lowest available price, that an item stayed in stock, or that one retailer beat another on the same product.
Amazon CEO Doug Herrington said, “We aim to meet or beat other retailers’ prices every day so customers don’t have to spend time comparing prices.” That is Amazon’s stated aim; it is not proof that Amazon matched or beat every competitor’s price on every item.
For a shopper looking specifically at Ninja air fryers, Target’s announcement named Ninja among its small-appliance and floorcare promotion, while Amazon’s roundup included air fryers as a category. Those references do not identify a particular Ninja model, establish its price or availability, or show that it was the best offer.
