There is no single best commercial frozen yogurt machine for every shop. Frozen yogurt is commonly made on commercial soft-serve or dispensing-freezer equipment, and the right choice depends on your expected rush volume, menu, space, utilities, cleaning routine, certification needs and access to service. Compare exact machine configurations—not broad brand claims—and confirm the installation requirements before you commit.
What kind of machine do you need to sell frozen yogurt?
Look for a commercial soft-serve or dispensing freezer that is specifically intended for frozen yogurt and suitable for your planned use. Taylor describes its soft-serve range as serving frozen yogurt, while NSF lists dispensing freezers in yogurt/soft-serve categories. Those category descriptions do not establish that every model or configuration is suitable or certified: check the specific product documentation and listing.
For a purchase decision, compare the exact unit’s feed system, flavor configuration, format, output basis, electrical requirements, cooling method, cleaning procedure and service support. Manufacturer and supplier pages provide useful model details, but the available specifications do not establish a universal best machine or a reliable cross-brand ranking.
Which machine features matter most?
Gravity-fed or pump-fed
A gravity-fed machine lets mix flow from the hopper into the freezing cylinder. A pump-fed machine meters mix and air under pressure. The designs can differ in air incorporation, product texture, output, hopper requirements and operating routine. Lane Equipment’s guide treats feed system as a core selection decision and gives examples of Spaceman machines with different hopper capacities and stated output; those figures apply to the cited models and should not be generalized to all pump- or gravity-fed units.

Ask the dealer to explain the feed system on the exact model you are considering, including its operating and cleaning implications. Do not assume the system alone determines product quality or throughput.
One flavor, two flavors or twist
A single-flavor machine can fit a compact menu or a business testing demand. A twin-twist configuration can serve two separate bases and a mixed serving, but additional product paths can mean more components and cleaning work. Taylor’s range includes single- and multi-flavor configurations; Carpigiani identifies its UF 720 SP as a 2+1 twin-twist machine.
Choose flavor count based on the menu you will actually serve, rather than assuming that extra choices automatically justify the added equipment and maintenance complexity.
Countertop or floor-standing
Countertop units can preserve floor space and may suit a smaller or supplemental dessert operation. Floor-standing equipment includes larger commercial formats. The sources do not establish a universal serving-volume cutoff between them, so base the decision on measured peak demand, available counter and floor space, staff workflow, ventilation, delivery access and space for technicians to reach the machine.

Capacity and output
Ask for the exact model’s hopper volume, freezing-cylinder size and output or recovery basis. If a seller gives an hourly serving estimate, ask what mix, room temperature and operating conditions underpin it. Carpigiani says UF 720 SP production capacity depends on the mix and room temperature. No comparable, matched-condition output figures are established across the manufacturers discussed here, so a headline capacity number is not enough to rank them.
Will the machine work in your space?
Electrical and cooling requirements can rule out a machine if the site is not prepared. Before ordering, have the manufacturer or dealer confirm the exact unit’s voltage, phase, amperage or fuse requirements, plug or wiring needs, cooling method, clearance and installation details. Check that the building’s electrical service and the proposed location can meet those requirements.
Carpigiani lists one UF 720 SP configuration at 400–415 V, three phase, 12 A fuse size and 4.8 kW rated power input. The manufacturer says other voltages and cycles may be available on request. Those figures describe that listed configuration only; they are not general requirements for commercial frozen yogurt machines. The same model is air-cooled, with water cooling optional.
How to compare named commercial machines
| Option | What the source establishes | What to verify for your purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Taylor soft-serve range | Taylor describes equipment for soft serve, frozen yogurt, custard and other frozen desserts. Its range presents single- and multi-flavor, countertop and floor-standing, gravity- and pump-fed configurations. | Exact model, product compatibility, capacity, utility requirements, certification, cleaning supplies and local service. |
| Spaceman commercial frozen-yogurt range | The manufacturer frames selection around flavor count, countertop or floor format, gravity or pump feed, output, electrical requirements, delivery and installation. | Exact model specifications and a written, installed cost from a dealer; the manufacturer’s selection framing is not an independent price comparison. |
| Carpigiani UF 720 SP | Floor-standing twin-twist soft-serve/frozen-yogurt machine with 2+1 flavors and a 2.5 L cylinder. The manufacturer lists tanks of 11+11 L for the pump model or 17+17 L for the gravity model. One listed electrical configuration is 400–415 V, three phase, 12 A fuse size and 4.8 kW; air cooling is standard, with water cooling optional. | Confirm the chosen feed-system version, electrical configuration, available voltage and cycle, cooling arrangement and site fit. Carpigiani says specifications are approximate and may change; capacity depends on mix and room temperature. |
| Stoelting models in NSF listings | NSF’s yogurt/soft-serve freezer categories include named models such as Centura C131 and listed Endura/Futura families. | Check the live NSF listing and exact model suffix; a listing for one model does not establish the status of every variant. |
These descriptions are starting points, not a performance ranking. Manufacturers publish specifications in different units and under different assumptions, and the sources do not establish comparable prices, installation totals or output under matched conditions.

What to verify before you buy
- Define demand and menu. Estimate peak service needs and decide how many flavors and whether you need a twist option. Use those requirements to narrow the machine format.
- Match the machine to the site. Measure the proposed location and confirm delivery access, staff workflow, clearance and ventilation. Have the dealer verify the exact electrical and cooling requirements against the building.
- Get model-specific operating details. Request hopper and cylinder sizes, the basis for any output estimate, feed-system requirements, cleaning instructions and compatible supplies.
- Check sanitation and listing status. Review the exact model’s certification documentation and confirm the requirements of your local health authority. NSF’s listings are model-specific; they do not establish that every variant is listed or resolve every local requirement.
- Price the complete installation. Ask for a written quote covering the machine, delivery, installation and any site work. The sources here do not establish current cross-brand prices or total installed costs.
- Confirm ongoing support. Before ordering, ask who handles warranty service, parts and technician visits in your area, and how cleaning supplies are matched to the model.
Cleaning, certification and ongoing operation
Cleaning systems and accessories vary by model. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and check compatibility before buying cleaning or sanitizing products. Taylor identifies Hydra Rinse cleaning/sanitizing systems and gives model-specific compatibility notes; do not assume those systems or supplies work with other models.
NSF’s NSF/ANSI 6 pages include dispensing-freezer categories for yogurt/soft serve. NSF stated that the cited listings were current as of October 3, 2026 at 12:15 a.m. Eastern Time. Check the live listing and exact model suffix when evaluating a certification claim, and confirm any separate local health-authority requirements.
How to make the final choice
Start with the constraints that are costly to change: peak demand, available space, electrical service and cooling. Then choose flavor count and feed system, compare model-specific output and cleaning requirements, and get written confirmation of installation, service and total cost. A machine is a good fit only when its documented configuration suits both the menu and the site; the available evidence does not support naming one model as best for every business.
