Best Black Friday Antivirus Deals 2025: Which Offers Were Worth It?

The 2025 antivirus deals have expired. Here is how the reported Norton, Bitdefender, McAfee, Trend Micro, Avast, and other offers compared—and which were worth considering.

Black Friday 2025 antivirus deals are over. Black Friday fell on November 28, 2025, followed by Cyber Monday on December 1. This is a historical comparison of the main U.S. offers reported during that shopping period—not a claim that these prices remain available in September 2026.

The best deal depended less on the biggest advertised percentage and more on the first-year price, renewal cost, device limit, platform support, and included features. Based on the reported offers, Bitdefender Total Security and Norton 360 Deluxe were the strongest all-around values; Trend Micro stood out for large households, while McAfee’s $20 offer was attractive but retailer-specific.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Quick verdict

Use case Best reported 2025 option Why
Best overall value Bitdefender Total Security About $50 for five devices, with cross-platform security features.
Best bundled suite Norton 360 Deluxe Reportedly included VPN, backup, password management, dark-web monitoring, and family features.
Best for large families Trend Micro Premium Security Suite Reportedly $45 for up to 10 devices.
Best retailer bargain McAfee Total Protection Reportedly $20 for five devices through Amazon, subject to retailer terms.
Best for one device Norton AntiVirus Plus or Bitdefender Antivirus Plus More sensible than paying for a multi-device suite when only one computer needs coverage.
Best alternative to paid antivirus Free built-in or free-tier protection A paid subscription is unnecessary if you need only basic malware defense and no bundled extras.

These are editorial categories based on reported pricing, coverage, and features—not claims of superior malware detection from independent laboratory testing. The available deal coverage did not provide a complete, directly comparable lab ranking.

Reported 2025 antivirus prices

The table below preserves the important context behind each deal. Prices came primarily from TechRadar’s Black Friday roundup, with additional discount signals from Cybernews. “Reported” means the price was published by that source; it does not mean an archived checkout page independently confirms that every offer was available to every U.S. shopper.

Product Seller Devices Reported first-year price Renewal price Evidence status Verdict
Norton AntiVirus Plus Norton 1 $20 Not published in the 2025 deal report Reported by TechRadar Good for one paid device
Norton 360 Deluxe Norton Up to 5 $30 in one report; $49.99 in another Not published for the 2025 offer Conflicting editorial reports Strong family bundle if the lower price applied
Bitdefender Total Security Bitdefender 5 About $50 Not published Reported around $50 by multiple sources Best-balanced multi-device deal
Trend Micro Premium Security Suite Trend Micro 10 $45 Not published Reported by TechRadar Excellent headline value for 10 devices
McAfee Total Protection Amazon 5 $20 Not published Reported retailer deal Potential bargain; verify seller and activation terms
Avast Ultimate Avast Device count ambiguous in retrieved coverage $70 Not published Reported, but tier/device wording conflicted Do not compare until the exact plan is confirmed
Acronis True Image Acronis 3 $34.99 Not published Reported by TechRadar Consider it backup plus security, not pure antivirus

Other roundups advertised discounts of up to 80% for TotalAV, 78% for Bitdefender, 85% for Surfshark Antivirus, 50% for Malwarebytes, about 30% for ESET, about 60% for Avast, about 67% for McAfee, and about 50% for Intego. Those figures were plan-dependent and, in several cases, affiliate-led or described only as “up to” discounts. They should not be treated as comparable prices without the exact term, device count, seller, and checkout total.

The deals that stood out

1. Bitdefender Total Security: the clearest all-around value

Bitdefender Total Security was reported at approximately $50 for one year and five devices. That works out to roughly $10 per covered device for the first year if all five seats are used. The product was positioned as a relatively low-impact, set-and-forget suite with malware, ransomware, anti-phishing, and cross-platform coverage on relevant tiers.

It was a sensible choice for a household with several computers or a mixture of Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. It was less compelling for someone protecting only one Windows PC, because a single-device plan could cost less.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Evidence: reported by TechRadar and around $49.99 in another 2025 roundup. The available sources did not establish the renewal price.

2. Norton 360 Deluxe: the strongest feature bundle

Norton 360 Deluxe was reported at both $30 and $49.99 for the first year, illustrating why a Black Friday price must include its seller and date. The likely coverage was up to five devices. Reported or listed features included antivirus, ransomware and hacking protection, a VPN, password manager, cloud backup, dark-web monitoring, scam protection, and parental controls on applicable tiers.

This was potentially the best fit for families that wanted several services in one subscription. It was not automatically the best malware-protection value, however: a bundle is valuable only if you would otherwise use the VPN, backup, identity-monitoring, or family-management features.

Norton’s current U.S. pages make the broader pricing risk clear: promotional prices are separate from renewal prices, and subscriptions generally auto-renew unless canceled. Those current pages are useful for understanding the terms, but they do not prove the exact 2025 price. See Norton’s product comparison and Norton’s pricing information.

3. Trend Micro Premium Security Suite: unusually good for 10 devices

TechRadar reported Trend Micro Premium Security Suite at $45 for 10 devices. On the headline first-year price alone, that was about $4.50 per device—provided a buyer actually needed all 10 seats.

The reported feature set included malware and ransomware protection, dangerous-site and scam protection, VPN, identity-theft protection, and 24/7 support. It made more sense for a large family, home office, or household with many devices than for a single-user setup.

Watch the renewal: the available deal report did not publish the subsequent annual price, so the $45 figure should not be used as the long-term cost.

4. McAfee Total Protection: cheap, but specifically an Amazon deal

The reported McAfee price was $20 for five devices through Amazon. That made it one of the lowest first-year multi-device prices in the roundup, but it was not McAfee-direct pricing.

Retailer offers can differ in subscription length, activation method, eligibility, renewal behavior, refund rules, and whether the code is for a new subscription or a renewal. A buyer should confirm the exact product title, seller, region, term, and renewal arrangement before paying.

McAfee was reported as including antivirus and web protection, firewall, VPN, password manager, and scam or text protection on relevant plans. The low price was attractive, but it should be compared with the complete retailer terms rather than the headline alone.

5. Avast Ultimate: a bundle worth checking carefully

Avast Ultimate was reported at $70 and described as including antivirus, suspicious-activity monitoring, firewall, VPN, and cleanup or performance tools. However, the retrieved coverage contains an unresolved contradiction: it refers to both five-device and 10-device pricing. That makes the deal impossible to rank confidently without the original checkout details.

Avast was also associated with a roughly 60% discount signal in Cybernews coverage, but the percentage does not resolve the device-count or tier question. The correct comparison depends on whether the offer was for Avast Ultimate, how many devices it covered, and whether the VPN and cleanup features were included for the full subscription term.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

6. Norton AntiVirus Plus: the logical single-device option

Norton AntiVirus Plus was reported at $20 for one device. It was a better structural fit for a single-computer buyer than a five- or 10-device family suite. The product category was also associated with a password manager and cloud backup.

Do not buy it merely because its first-year price matches a multi-device promotion. If you need coverage for a family or mixed-device household, the per-device cost may be much higher than a five-device plan.

How the other advertised offers fit

TotalAV, Malwarebytes, Surfshark Antivirus, ESET, Intego, NordVPN Threat Protection Pro, and Acronis appeared in broader 2025 deal coverage, but they should not be treated as interchangeable antivirus products.

  • Malwarebytes: Cybernews reported up to 50% off. Confirm the exact tier and whether it provides the family, backup, or identity features you need.
  • Intego: Cybernews reported about 50% off. It was particularly relevant to Mac-first buyers, but the exact product and platform coverage required verification.
  • Surfshark Antivirus: the reported discount may have applied to a broader bundle or longer subscription. Check whether the offer includes a conventional antivirus product, a VPN, or both.
  • ESET: about 30% off was reported, but the plan, term, and country determine the real value.
  • TotalAV: “up to 80% off” is not a price for every plan and may be based on a particular term or new-customer offer.
  • NordVPN Threat Protection Pro: a threat-protection feature attached to a VPN service should not be ranked as though it were a complete standalone antivirus suite.
  • Acronis True Image: the reported $34.99 offer covered backup plus cybersecurity features. It was a different proposition from buying antivirus alone.

How to compare antivirus deals correctly

Calculate the first-year cost per device

Divide the first-year price by the number of included devices, but only if you will use those seats. A $20 one-device plan costs $20 per covered device. A $50 five-device plan costs $10 per device when all five are needed. The latter is not automatically cheaper for someone with one computer.

Check the renewal price before checking the discount

Promotional pricing can make the first year look inexpensive while the second year costs substantially more. Record both figures and calculate the two-year total:

Two-year cost = introductory price + renewal price

If the renewal price is not displayed, treat the long-term cost as unknown rather than assuming the introductory price continues.

Separate antivirus from bundled services

Core antivirus generally means malware, ransomware, phishing, and dangerous-site protection. A security suite may add a VPN, password manager, backup, identity monitoring, parental controls, cleanup tools, or premium support. Those extras can justify a higher price, but a long feature list is not evidence of better malware detection.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Match every device and operating system

Check Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS support separately. Features may not work identically across platforms: mobile versions can have different scanning, web-protection, VPN, parental-control, or identity-monitoring capabilities. Also confirm whether “five devices” means simultaneous installations, account seats, or a license limited to particular device types.

  • ALWAYS UP TO DATE: Webroot scours 95% of the Internet three times per day including billions of web pages, files and apps to determine what is safe online and enhances the software automatically without time-consuming updates

Distinguish official offers from retailer offers

An official vendor checkout is usually easier to evaluate for eligibility, renewal, and refunds. Retailer offers can be cheaper, but verify:

  • the exact product tier and subscription term;
  • the seller, not just the marketplace name;
  • whether the code is new-customer-only or renewal-only;
  • the activation country or region;
  • whether the subscription auto-renews;
  • the retailer and manufacturer refund rules.

Ignore the largest “up to” number unless it applies to your plan

A discount of 80% or 85% may apply only to a particular multi-year term, device count, bundle, country, or new-customer checkout. The actual price, term, device count, and renewal amount are more useful than the percentage.

Which 2025 deal suited each buyer?

  • One Windows PC: Norton AntiVirus Plus or Bitdefender Antivirus Plus was more appropriate than paying for a family bundle. Free built-in protection may also be sufficient if you need only basic malware defense.
  • Five-device family: Bitdefender Total Security, Norton 360 Deluxe, or McAfee Total Protection offered more sensible coverage than a one-device license.
  • Large household: Trend Micro’s reported $45, 10-device offer was the standout on first-year price per seat.
  • Mixed Windows, Mac, and mobile household: Bitdefender Total Security or a comparable cross-platform suite was a better starting point, but every required platform and feature needed confirmation.
  • Mac-first user: Intego was worth considering because of its Mac-focused positioning, although the exact 2025 plan and discount required verification.
  • User wanting VPN and privacy tools: Norton 360, Avast Ultimate, or a Surfshark bundle could fit, depending on VPN limits and whether antivirus was included in the exact tier.
  • User who dislikes renewal management: Avoid judging by the first-year price alone. Choose a product with clear renewal terms, or set a reminder to review the subscription before it renews.
  • User needing only basic malware protection: Do not assume a paid deal is necessary. The additional cost is easier to justify when you need multi-device management, stronger web or scam protection, VPN access, backup, identity monitoring, or family controls.

  1. Screenshot the checkout page showing the first-year price.
  2. Record the renewal price and renewal date.
  3. Confirm the device limit and supported operating systems.
  4. Check whether the subscription automatically renews.
  5. Read the refund deadline and exclusions.
  6. Confirm whether the offer is limited to new customers.
  7. Verify the seller, activation region, and subscription length.
  8. Set a calendar reminder 30 to 45 days before renewal.

Why the 2025 deal lists disagreed

The major roundups were published at different points in the sale cycle. TechRadar’s coverage was updated December 2, while Cybernews’ page was updated December 15 and included post-Black-Friday Christmas offers. A promotion advertised in mid-December should not automatically be described as a Black Friday price.

The Norton 360 Deluxe example shows the problem: one report listed $30, while another listed $49.99. That difference may reflect a different retailer, offer window, tier, region, or checkout condition. The responsible way to present a historical deal is to preserve the source, date, seller, and uncertainty—not silently choose the cheapest number.

Similarly, a 2026 offer must not be placed beneath a 2025 headline. Norton’s current pages, including its Black Friday and Cyber Monday page, AntiVirus Plus page, and pricing page, provide current plan and renewal context but do not revive the expired 2025 promotions.

Bottom line on the 2025 promotions

For a typical multi-device household, Bitdefender Total Security was the clearest value around the reported $50 price, while Norton 360 Deluxe offered the broader bundle when its VPN, backup, monitoring, and family features mattered. Trend Micro’s $45 10-device offer was compelling for large households, and McAfee’s reported $20 Amazon deal was potentially excellent—but only after checking the retailer’s exact terms.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The best financial decision for a single device may have been to skip the paid subscription entirely. Whether a 2025 antivirus deal was worthwhile depended on the renewal price and the features you would actually use, not the percentage printed beside the sale price.
