There is no single best B2B data provider for every team. Choose based on the job you need done—finding named contacts, enriching company records, identifying buyer intent, building prospect lists, or supplying data through an API—and test providers against your target market before committing. Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator are useful starting points for different workflows, not independently proven winners.
What a B2B data provider supplies
B2B data products can provide work email addresses and phone numbers for named people, company firmographics, account-level intent signals, CRM enrichment, or person and company records through an API. Some also bundle sales-engagement features such as sequencing or dialers. These are distinct capabilities: a large advertised database does not by itself show that a provider covers your target accounts, roles, or required fields.
Best B2B data providers by use case
The shortlist below reflects how vendor-authored and commercial comparison pages position these products. Those descriptions can help identify options to evaluate, but they are not impartial, independently tested rankings.
| Provider or option | Best fit to investigate | What the published positioning says | What to validate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apollo | Self-service contact search plus outreach | Contact search and enrichment combined with sequencing; comparison sources report self-service pricing. | Coverage and verification for your target roles and countries, and whether the included outreach features suit your workflow. |
| ZoomInfo | Enterprise sales intelligence | Contact and company data alongside intent and org-chart functionality. | Which modules your team needs, how those modules are packaged, and the quoted total cost. |
| Cognism | European and phone-led outbound | Positioned around EMEA contact data and phone-verified mobile records. | Country-, role-, and field-level match rates for your ideal customer profile (ICP); broad regional positioning does not guarantee a fit for a particular segment. |
| LinkedIn Sales Navigator | Manual professional-network prospecting | Supports building prospect lists from profile and company criteria. | Whether a profile-based workflow meets your needs; it is not the same as buying a bulk contact database or enrichment API. |
| Other options | Specialized contact lookup, APIs, intent, or CRM-native enrichment | UpLead and RocketReach appear as contact lookup or database options; Lead411 and SalesIntel also appear in comparison lists. People Data Labs is an API option; 6sense and Bombora focus on intent; HubSpot Breeze Intelligence is CRM-native enrichment. | Current availability, product scope, integrations, and fit directly with each provider. |
How to compare providers for your team
- Define the job and required fields. Specify whether you need contact search, enrichment, intent, an API feed, CRM synchronization, sequencing, or a combination. List the fields that make a record usable for your team.
- Check coverage in your actual market. Ask about countries, industries, company sizes, and job roles, then request field-level coverage information for the segments you target. Do not treat a broad coverage claim as proof that a specific slice of your ICP is well represented.
- Ask how records are verified and refreshed. Clarify how work emails, direct dials, mobile numbers, employment details, and company attributes are checked and updated. Agree on what counts as a successful record for your use case before evaluating results.
- Map the workflow and data movement. Confirm connections to your CRM, sales-engagement tools, marketing automation, or data warehouse. Review export, retention, and suppression controls as part of the integration decision.
- Run a controlled pilot. Use representative accounts and contacts from the markets and roles you care about. Apply the same required fields and verification rules to each finalist, and compare usable results—not just advertised database size. Published accuracy claims and test methods can differ, so a percentage from one provider may not be comparable with another’s.
- Review governance before purchase. With your privacy and legal teams, examine the provider’s stated data sources and legal basis, processes for objections and deletion requests, suppression handling, retention, and regional policies. A provider’s statements alone do not establish that your organization’s planned use is compliant.
How to compare pricing
A comparison updated October 1, 2026 reports self-service prices for some vendors, quote-only pricing for others, and a median annual ZoomInfo contract figure attributed to Vendr. These are secondary-source, date-bound figures rather than a complete audited price survey or a universal price list. The available information does not establish a single current price that can be fairly applied across providers. Confirm current packaging, allowances, and terms with each provider before budgeting.

For a useful comparison, estimate the cost per record that your team can actually verify and use at its expected monthly volume and headcount. Entry prices alone can mislead because providers may charge by seat, credit, workspace, or annual contract, and those models are not directly interchangeable. Include any platform modules your workflow requires in the comparison.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the available comparisons can—and cannot—tell you
Public comparisons associate Apollo with self-service contact data and outreach, ZoomInfo with enterprise sales intelligence, Cognism with EMEA-oriented phone data, and Sales Navigator with network-based prospecting. Treat these as descriptions of positioning, not evidence that one product is superior across markets or use cases. Coverage counts may also be vendor claims rather than audited totals, and the available comparisons do not establish a universal data-accuracy winner.
The practical decision is therefore a shortlist followed by a buyer-specific test: choose candidates that fit the workflow, compare them on the same representative sample, and judge the records against your own requirements for usable fields, coverage, and verification.
