That is a third-party estimate, not a confirmed salary: the page’s displayed history contains inconsistent club and league labels. Not reliably from the available figures. A defensible ranking would need salary information for the same season, calculated on the same basis and tied to players who were actually in the Championship during that period. It would also need to clarify whether it compares gross or net pay and fixed wages or totals that include bonuses.
Capology’s Championship salary page is estimate-based; its surfaced summary does not establish a definitive midfield-only ranking. A league-wide salary list is not enough to prove who the best-paid midfielders are, and a single estimate for Bannan cannot support a rank against figures drawn from mixed seasons or salary definitions. Wages, performance and reputation are different comparisons
“Best” can mean highest-paid, strongest-performing or most highly regarded. Those are separate questions. A wage estimate can speak only to a reported pay figure—and in Bannan’s case, the estimate is not verified. It does not establish how well he performed, how he ranks as a player or what other clubs’ midfielders earn.
