When did SignNow become CudaSign?
Barracuda announced the name change on March 3, 2015. SignNow had joined Barracuda two years earlier: the company announced its acquisition of SignNow on May 22, 2013. Barracuda said the acquisition expanded its cloud data-storage and security portfolio.

At the time of the acquisition, Barracuda reported that SignNow had more than 1 million users, represented over 100,000 small businesses and more than half of the Fortune 500, and had processed more than 3 million digitally certified and signed documents. These are company-reported figures from 2013. In its 2015 rebranding announcement, Barracuda said more than 2 million users were leveraging CudaSign.

Barracuda said it wanted to extend its brand into eSignatures and place the product within its Data Protection Plus initiative. The rebrand was presented as part of a broader portfolio strategy, rather than a description of a new standalone company. At acquisition, CEO BJ Jenkins said the SignNow deal would strengthen Barracuda’s cloud data-storage offering and its focus on simple, affordable IT solutions.

What did CudaSign offer?
The 2015 announcement described a service for collecting electronic signatures, automating document workflows, tracking documents, and maintaining audit trails. It listed integrations with Salesforce, SharePoint, Office 365 Outlook, and Google. Barracuda also introduced CudaSign Premium for integrations and deployment on a Barracuda appliance or virtual appliance.
The announcement described business use and mobile signing, but does not provide enough detail to establish specific mobile operating-system support or every integration’s scope. For enterprise features announced later, see the 2016 release details below.

What was the announced pricing?
Barracuda set launch business pricing at US $1 per user per month, subject to additional terms and conditions. This is the price stated in the March 3, 2015 announcement, not a current quote or evidence of present availability.

On March 31, 2016, Barracuda announced CudaSign Enterprise, listing a starting price of US $9 per user per month. The 2016 release said the tier included SOC 2 Type 1 certification and expanded enterprise capabilities. The two figures refer to different announcements and product offerings; they should not be read as a directly comparable current price schedule.

What changed with CudaSign Enterprise in 2016?
The Enterprise announcement added user management, notifications, knowledge-based authentication (KBA), audit logs, templates, and updates to SOAP and REST API support. Barracuda also cited more than 40,000 customers and almost 4 million users in 2016. Those are company-reported figures from that announcement, not independently verified user counts.
