The company said the dispute concerns an alleged tax-payment mismatch for financial year 2018–19. It received the order on April 6, 2026, and said it was evaluating further legal options; the filing does not establish what happened after that.
What is the GST demand against Bajaj Electricals?
In a Regulation 30 disclosure dated April 7, 2026, Bajaj Electricals said it had received an adverse appeal order dated March 27, 2026. The order was issued by the Office of the Commissioner (Appeals), Central Excise, Customs & CGST, Jaipur under Section 107 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The company reported an alleged gross demand of ₹3.45 crore, including a penalty of ₹31.53 lakh. The company said the matter concerns alleged short payment of tax, identified by comparing returns in GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for FY 2018–19. Its filing says the original assessment order was dated April 30, 2024 and was issued by the Additional Commissioner, Jaipur under Section 73 of the GST law. The March 2026 decision is the later appellate order; the two should not be confused.

Why does the headline say ₹6.27 crore when the company filing says ₹3.45 crore?
The ₹6.27 crore figure is not supported by the company’s disclosure for this Jaipur appellate order. The primary filing located reports ₹3.45 crore as the alleged gross demand, inclusive of the ₹31.53 lakh penalty. No primary record located for this order establishes the ₹6.27 crore amount, so it should not be presented as the confirmed demand.

A separate Bajaj Electricals disclosure dated April 1, 2026 concerns an assessment order in Madhya Pradesh under Section 74 of the MPGST Act. That is a different proceeding and does not substantiate the amount associated with the Jaipur appeal. The two orders should not be combined.
What did Bajaj Electricals say about the appeal order?
Bajaj Electricals said its submissions were not considered by the appellate authority. That is the company’s characterization in its disclosure. The filing said management was evaluating legal options, including an appeal before the appropriate appellate tribunal and/or a writ petition before the High Court.

The April 7 disclosure does not establish whether the company later filed either challenge, obtained a stay, paid the amount, or had the order set aside. It therefore does not support a claim that the dispute has been resolved or that payment is currently due following a later court or tribunal decision.
What did the company say about the financial and operational impact?
The company said any financial impact, if the order materialises, would be limited to the demand and penalty. It also stated: “There is no impact on the operational, financial, or other activities of the Company on account of this order/assessment.” This was Bajaj Electricals’ statement at the time of its disclosure, not an independent assessment of subsequent effects.
