Avendus confirmed in May 2024 that it was looking to raise up to $350 million for Future Leaders Fund III (FLF III), a late-stage private-equity fund. That was the launch target, not evidence that the fund is still raising that amount: a July 2026 report said a final close of about ₹1,800 crore was expected by month-end, but did not confirm it had occurred.
What Avendus announced in 2024
On May 28, 2024, Avendus said it was looking to raise up to $350 million for FLF III. The fund was intended to make larger investments in backed startups and maintain meaningful positions, according to TechCrunch’s interview with Avendus.
The description of Avendus as a leading venture adviser needs context. TechCrunch, citing Venture Intelligence, said Avendus provided services in more than 30 deals during 2023, including mergers and acquisitions. That deal count is a reported measure of activity, not an unqualified ranking of the investment-banking market.
How FLF III planned to invest
At launch, the fund described a late-stage strategy: invest in established businesses, take minority stakes, and use either new capital raises or secondary transactions to enter. These were stated plans, not a description of every investment the fund ultimately made.

Managing partner Ritesh Chandra told The Times of India that the fund could join a fundraising round with other investors or invest through bilateral deals. He also said, “We take minority positions in companies.” The stated approach therefore offered more than one route into a company while keeping Avendus in a minority ownership role.
What was reported about the fund by July 2026
In a report published July 13, 2026, The Times of India said FLF III was expected to reach a final close at around ₹1,800 crore by the end of that month. The report described the close as prospective; it did not establish that the closing happened or confirm the final amount.
The same report said the fund was about 30% deployed, with around ₹540 crore invested across four companies, and planned five or six more investments over the following 12 months, bringing the portfolio to about 12 companies. These are figures and plans attributed to that July 2026 report, not independently verified current portfolio data.
Reported investment in Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services
The Times of India reported that FLF III acquired about a 1% stake in Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services for ₹140 crore in a secondary transaction. Chandra told the publication the company was evaluating a public listing over the next three to four years, while Avendus’s exit was not contingent on an IPO. The report does not establish that a listing or exit has since taken place.

What the previous-fund figures do—and do not—show
Press Insider, relaying Avendus’s statements, reported that Lenskart Solutions and the National Stock Exchange of India were exits from FLF I, each generating about 4X returns for investors within four years. It also said FLF I had returned all investor capital ahead of schedule and FLF II had completed 11 investments. These are company-reported figures as carried by Press Insider, not independently verified performance data in the cited coverage; they should not be read as a forecast or guarantee for FLF III.

In the 2024 TechCrunch interview, Chandra said the fund’s life cycle was five to six years and described a focus on getting invested capital back. That statement conveys the fund’s intended horizon and priority; it is not a promise that each investment will be realized on that timetable or return capital.
