Avelo’s first international flights launched in November 2024 to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cancún, Mexico. A December 4 announcement then outlined additional routes planned for 2025, including service from Raleigh-Durham to Montego Bay and Punta Cana. Those dates describe historical announcements—not confirmation that the flights operate or are currently bookable.
What Avelo announced for the 2024 holiday season
In a December 6, 2024 holiday update, Avelo said it had inaugurated 16 routes and added four destinations during November, including its first two international destinations: Montego Bay and Cancún. The airline also said it had announced 10 routes for early 2025, with Punta Cana set to become its third international destination. Avelo’s December 6, 2024 holiday update
The holiday release projected that more than 150,000 customers would fly with Avelo during the peak period from December 20, 2024, through January 5, 2025. That was the airline’s forecast at the time, not a final passenger count.
North Carolina expansion announced December 4
Avelo announced two new bases: Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA), serving the Charlotte/Concord area, and Wilmington International Airport (ILM). It paired those bases with seven planned North Carolina routes and said the additions would bring its nonstop destinations from the state to 27. The announced services were part of a 10-route expansion planned to begin in 2025, using Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Avelo’s December 4, 2024 route announcement

- Confirm the route is offered on your specific travel dates and that seats can be booked.
- Compare the total fare, not just the base fare. Avelo’s December 4 release said optional carry-on and checked baggage and assigned seats could involve additional fees; check current charges and rules with the airline.
- Check the departure airport carefully. Concord (USA), Wilmington (ILM), and Raleigh-Durham (RDU) are different airports serving different parts of North Carolina.
The December 4 release advertised introductory one-way fares from $44, subject to limited seats, a booking deadline, and optional fees. This was a historical promotion, not a current price guarantee.
